it's on BBC2 in 20 mins. shall i watch?
at school for some reason.
My memory tells me no.
I think it's a film that only really works in the right atmosphere. I can't imagine it working in a classroom of 11/12 year olds.
It's a film that relies on you getting into the atmosphere of it and one that works best in total silence and with no outside distractions.
I totally get what you mean.
Can't remember it much, but definitely applies to some of my favourite films
I just couldn't think of a humorous response so went for a serious one just for something to say.
i thought it alright
does anyone wanna go to the pub in ilkley with me for a couple of hours
...and I would, we could stop in and see my uncle too, but, I'm in Bournemouth and my uncle is a dick, sorry!
but it gets very silly.
It's very much an atmosphere film though - if you're gonna watch it do so with all your lights out and full concentration on the screen.
for predator later on
I loved it, think it was massively underrated at the time. And considering how much rubbish Nicole Kidman has been in since then, it's nice to be reminded she's capable of being really good in a film.
Plus it has Eric Sykes in it.
Nicely shot and it builds up a really good, spooky atmosphere. Kind of reminiscent of The Devil's Backbone
the "bit where she looks like an old woman"
I nearly did a dump when I saw that bit for the first time
which of course was based on the turn of the screw. t'others was massively influenced by it ....
Mostly for Nicole's brilliantly old-school performance. It's very blatantly inspired by 'The Innocents' (an old Deborah Kerr movie that's based on The Turn of the Screw) so if you're at all fond of 60s horror like that and 'The Haunting' then I'd recommend it.
Keith Allen is in it, though. Swings and roundabouts, and all that.
use of dashes gives me a boner?
Alejandro Amenabar inserts Jamesian dashes into the very language of cinema'.
From a film review I just made up. (It's not true. But watch it anyway!)
by They Don't Sleep is amazing.
it's good. Great atmosphere.
DERRE YOWSSED TOW BE ABOWT FIFFTEEEN SORRRVANTS BEEFOARR DE TCHOO BURR CULOWSISS.
Most Irish woman ever?
and watch the dawn of the dead remake instead!
Although I suspect that made it less scary, and I don't like being scared, so yay!
