About to do my exit interview! Yaay! Go me! Is it necessary to steal stationary?
how was house hunting?
Found a 1 bed flat in the Arboretum, in a converted victorian house thing- newly redecorated, new kitchen, 10 minutes from work, goal!
There's an 'arboretum' opposite, it has an aviary, lots of trees and hopefully in the summer it'll be full of hott students.
Full story available if interested.
My Dad took us (me and my two sisters) to the park, and was hiding behind trees before jumping out and shouting 'boo'. We'd then run away screaming and giggling and he'd hide again.
Then someone called the police.
(Interestingly, when the police asked my eldest sister 'Is this your Daddy?' she said 'No.')
It must be Monay morning :(
it's spelt 'Monet', you div!
Just you wait til this affernoooon
if my knowledge of impressionists went further than Renoir, Monet and Rory Bremner.
why did Constable have smelly hands?
BECAUSE HE KNEADED A POO!!!!
ps. he was also a parttime baker
and being a bit wrong, I still laughed.
It really IS a Monay morning!
it's a rich man's world!
that's rather good, in fact that's very good, one could say that things are going swimmingly!
going to be a mere 15-20 mins walk from MY HOUSE! :D
Seriously though, I am quite scared of fat girls.
it's the FIRST day of work!
(congrats on finding a house, I trust you have new employment elsewhere?)
/ what u doin now?
to start a new job- working as an Emergency Planning Officer with the council. Same job I do here, but I'm currently at the environment agency.
Decided to move due to being around Reading for 5 years or so, a change of scene will do me good.
I've also never been shot*, in todays gangsta-centric world I feel a bit left out.
*though i did shoot myself with a BB gun out of curiousity.
soo i can offer out of date advice on where to go, etc ;P
the obvious choice for most is rockers club wise is rock city but its kinda skanky.
The old angel in lace market is the proper old skool rock pub.
If you like nicer places to drink then mostly the lace market area is best.
I use to like going to the art house cinema they have and hopefully still have there its just down the road from Ice 9 the cheesy incentse and bongs shop.
Personally i liked the pit and pendulum dungeon theme bar cos theres always somewhere to sit and hang out with friends and the bathroom is behind a door hidden in a bookshelf (painted on book shelf)
Where about u living?
The Old Angel is still the premier METAL pub in town.
I don't drink in the lace market much as it's a bit too posh for me (although the pitcher and piano is fucking beautiful)
The Broadway Cinema is still open and is great for foreign beers and such.
My personal faves are The Social*, The Malt Cross, The Dragon, The Rescue Rooms and The Orange Tree.
*I refuse to accept it's stupid new name.
The vue in Reading shows approximately 2.5 films at any one time, 1.5 or more of these may feature adam sandler.
Hmm, pub crawl some time?
Pub crawl within 20 minutes of you arriving in Nottingham.
Unpacking when drunk is the only way to unpack!
I think my rents are helping me move up (under the guise of 'visiting friends in leicester) so that means i have more room in my car to bring important things, like amps, guitars and noiseboxes.
You're mapperley park, right?
I live very close to where Mapperley Road meets Mansfield Road.
rather than the 90s girlband of the same name. (Though that would be an awesome theme for a flat warming. Combat trousers at the ready!)
Or am I getting confused?
Are you allowed to play football in the arboretum?
but you can play on the forest recreation ground thingy which is fairly close to you.
it was a nice eletronica break every now and again.
