i've not seen anything he's said before. he makes me sad. he's like, the opposite to what americans think their country stands for, i.e. freedom.
views on abortion
'My brother was a result of a rape and I doubt that anyone regrets his birth. If you spread your legs, don't make someone else pay for it.'
but he's in a band called Capitol Offense. So I find it difficult to actually hate him.

I should try to answer this:
There a innumerate factors in the whole thing.
Primarily, look at how the last election was fought- widely considered to be one of the dirtiest in history. Its fairly common after a period of dirt digging for a much more 'open and honest' candidate whatever their views, do do better in the polls and voting structure. Many voters vote for 'values' rather than policy, especially republican voters (See also: John McCain in the Bush/Gore election). Note how Huckabbe isnt skirting the issue here.
In addition to this its a fair bet to say that many American voters hold similar views on homosexuality. Or at least, dont care about gay rights either way. If you aren't gay, you arent going to worry as much about gay rights, and if the other policies appeal then why shouldnt you want to vote for him? Also consider that many other candidates have refused to take a line on or go against gay marriage- including, though i cant be sure- both of the 'big' democrat candidates.
These are but a few factors in how he got that far.
is he doing chasing 12-year old boys into forests?
