Film 4. Now!
i've got it on dvd but i'm still tuning in
but then i'm pretentious! ;)
The whole "don't eat from the table" ... "munch munch" bit. 100% predictable, made worse with 0% tension.
i turned over just before the bottle scene, urghh.
bad enough in the cinema, don't think i could bare it with dinner.
otherwise ace film.
the way his face actually caves in. :(
That really disturbed me, and I'm usually not affected by TV violence. Horrible image that will stay with me for a while :(
i meant the bottle scene in Pan's Labyrinth. I think I'll give Irreversible a miss.
the war segment is brilliant, the fantasy segment is dissapointing but good & the ending is predictable
i was watching the gadget show, and managing to stay awake during the testing of how long various batteries last (woo!). Then Pan's Labyrinth came on, and I literally couldn't keep my eyes open.
It's probably also to do with relative costs of production and stuff.
I might watch it at some point, although I'm not a fan of extreme violence. Are there any dislocations?
theres two quite violent scenes as i remember, its fine other than that...
dislocations make me faint :(
it's amazingly shit.
how i love thee
saw it by pure fluke at the cinema with friends as we wanted to see something but nothing else was on. I didnt tell my friends it was subtitled, and it was a bit of a hit. I didnt need the words though ;)
but makes a good dicussion film afterwards.
Anyone seem any other Del Toro films?
Classic. Bit slow, but very well done.
Gold star, and all that.
cronos kinda sucks, devil's backbone is alright, bit mediocre though. id quite like to see hellboy, i imagine that is probably the pinnacle of his career :D
considering how small the budget was. Hellboy is great if you liked the hellboy comics (not a great newbie film to the franchise.) and how is the end of pans predictable? its left open ended depending on whether you believed with ofelia, or not. gave the film 2 very different endings i thought
is very good.
Get the box set of chronos, devils.. and pan's well worth the £20 I paid in the slaes.
Although as was said, the whole grape eating thing was ridiculous, but that monster-thang was pretty grim.
basically discounts the fantasy sections as having only took place in the girl's imagination. I took its message to be that you can dream all you like but there's no escape from grim reality. That's one of the reasons I didn't like the film as much as everyone else seems to.
Except I turned over just before it started, having watched Coach Carter that was on before it.
Coach Carters very good, Pan's Labyrinth is definately overrated.
Blade 2: Shit!
Don't care if its over-rated by other people
I think it is fantastic. A film steeped in history and fantasy which is open to any interpretation you wish to give it. So many good performances as well...
