Me and my friend wondered how much money Pete Doherty has spent on drugs.
Other questions you want answered....below v
..ahh, never mind
and no-one had replied yet.
some surnames originated from jobs - smith from blacksmith for example but others come from city/town/village names. Where do the place names come from?
"what is language"
I can answer some....
Why is the little village near me called Osmotherley?
'It is likely that Osmotherley means the clearing or 'ley' (pronounced lee), belonging to a Viking called 'Asmund' or a Saxon called 'Osmund'.'
I don't know the Osmother part.
Perhaps Os' mother's wood?
I guess that shows me...
It can mean a wood. Or a place in a clearing in a wood.
a question answered!
You aren't by any chance Pete Doherty's dealer?
where latin came from? god knows.
do they open the underground overnight and put the heating on in winter for homeless in Paris, but not in London?
I saw some young homeless in a freezing cold concourse at London Bridge tonight and felt rotten sick for them with this insane cold :(
and then waiting to get my train and for the station to open, and that was bad enough. I dont know how people do it every night :(
In Down and Out In Paris and London he raises a similar point. Great minds etc.
In the departure place at airports there's always taxi drivers holding placards with names on. I wonder if people regularly go up to these people and claim they are that person.
Because they don't get enough protein, meaning they can't develop muscles properly.
Which equals a fat bastard.
I want to know why we chose the drive on the left. Likewise why others chose to drive on the right. Was their a particular reason or did someone just flip a coin?
and americans are backwoard
Buckingham Palace faces East and the King didn't want to have to walk around the car.
thank you. This was of course before they made cars that could point the other way.
It predates cars entirely. We drive on the left, due to the fact that most men are right handed, as such up to the late 1700's, everybody travelled on the left side of the road because it's the sensible option for feudal, violent societies of mostly right-handed people.
Jousting knights with their lances under their right arm naturally passed on each other's right, and if you passed a stranger on the road you walked on the left to ensure that your protective sword arm was between yourself and him.
I had a look around myself for why the French etc. drive on the right. It seems we kept our feudal tradition because we never had a political revolution like France. Meaning we never felt the need to stop travelling on the left as the aritocracy did.
And then of course we weren't conquered by Napoleon, or anyone else for that matter, keeping our aritstocracy intact long enough for driving on the left to become universal.
It's interesting that Japan, being an old feudal island nation never truly conquered (i.e. had other methods enforced upon them) also drive on the left.
Sorry I'm being a history nerd now.
so he probably gets alot of freebies
So im guessing till the 07 period with standard london street prices.... about £180/week
of drug imbuement.
Which I doubt.
Why do all cows moo, all pinks oink, and all monkeys oohoohooh, no matter where they are in the world?
do animals have accents?
french dogs would be like LE WOOOOF LE WOOOF LE WOOOF ARF LE WOOF
cows here Moo longer than in other parts of the country.
They literally do moo with a west country drawl.
We don't all go 'HELLO HELLO HEEEELLLOOOO'.
I'm a credit to this thread.
cows might be able to tell the difference between different moos. human language all sounds the same really doesn't it? it's just structured differently.
whether someone's speaking in french or in english, it still sounds like a human talking.
a live man or dead woman?
well a man....
I'm not completely adverse to it anyway.
long has the woman been dead for?
make it 1 day
.... if the cherry is still fresh you can still pick it i say
do you do this kind of thing often?
lithium and alcohol? is this safe?????
It's generally not safe.
But Lithium can cause dehydration, so basically it just magnifies the dehydrating effects of the alcohol.
