What do you buy a girl in her early twenties? First time I've ever not been able to think of anything..
with big flowers all over it!!! but not like a crazy lady kind, the kind where it's like roses and theyr'e all smooshed close and you wear it with a really nice dresss! or ya, get me a dress! or ummmmm flowers? a necklace!!! ya!
vodka! oooooh and Blue Bols!!!!
then buy her a taschen book.
Books are cool. Taschen books are beautiful.
a funeral plan
all things she'll thank you for in years to come.
why would she thank me for a funeral plan?
shit enough to have died, so I can see that...
Say 30-40ish. Maybe a little more.
i'm always happy to recieve alcohol. actually the other day i made mr.strawberry buy us some portegese wine for xmas. and i'm hoping so much to get Blue Bols!!!
booze is awesome!
I'm in my early twenties(ish), and I think most alcohol tastes horrid. I'd be most disappointed were somebody to buy me a bottle of something. Because you drink it and then you wee it out again, know what I mean? And object permanence is really great.
Toiletries and things are boring and mostly go unused. Unless it's a specific high-end perfume that said girl has mentioned a liking for. This does not include such scents as 'Exclamation!' or 'Charlie Red', or any kind of Impulse body spray. Most girls will not thank you for these.
It makes a lot of difference who the girl is, though. And not to state the obvious but you should probably take her interests into account. Do you know of anything specific that she likes, or the sorts of things she might for herself? It's quite easy to think of things pertaining to someones specific tastes, and it's even better when they're quite obscure.
And oh, not to contradict everything I've just said, but it needn't be anything pricey. Unless the girl is a self-professed materialist with overtly expensive taste, then she'd probably be much happier with something that seems personal and that you've apparently put a bit of thought into. It's a bit of cliche, like, but girls are pretty sentimental. It's really nice when somebody buys you something that you genuinely, genuinely like. I once got really weepy when someone bought me a tea towel with birds on it. It was unnerving, but lovely.
P.S. If this is your sister, or something, then you should probably disregard everything I've said. My brother said it was creepy when I put real thought into his birthday present, and now I mostly just give him GAME vouchers.
And oops, I missed words out.
one of the best gifts i ever received was a spirit level. i wanted one for so so long. and it was refreshing to know that someone had listened to me and bought me a silly thing that i really wanted.
ah how i love teatowels!!
