Newcastle will bone Fulham back to the stoneage. Fact.
Who is your team playing today?
Given our home form and Scunthorpe's league position I'm counting on a home win.
Birmingham 1 - 0 Reading
Derby 0 - 1 Middlesbrough
Man City 2 - 1 Bolton
Portsmouth 2 - 2 Tottenham
Sunderland 1 -3 Aston Villa
West Ham 0 - 1 Everton
Wigan 0 - 2 Blackburn
Fulham 0 - 2 Newcastle
in protest at our humiliating cup exit in the week. i'm sure my absence will make the team buck their ideas up.
I'm not massively confident but I'm hoping our defence performs well beyond their capabilities and we get a win with a clean sheet.
Best day ever.
This is incredible.
Please don't make mistakes in the future against teams I loathe.
This game sounds brilliant.
A lot of the hate stems from their performance against Arsenal earlier this season. One of the most disgraceful things to ever happen.
And there's a lot of individual players I don't like.
Bye bye DiS forever. I want to die.
fantasy wise I'm going to cane everyone, cheers Roque
Santa Cruz has been shit lately after a good start. Agbonlahor should get a goal... please?
we're already beating Megson's cunts
we'll still win.
I know cack-all about football.
Does this result seem remotely likely?
Newcastly are pretty inconsistent. They should get a win, but...
They're both as bad as each other.
gave those odds?
it's Bolton you fucktards, what happened to the uneventful 1-0s of yore
thanks to his lunatic tackle on Chimbonda last weekend, which cost us the game. I was wondering why he was so inexpensive in the fantasy league. Then I remembered.
assist for good old Petrov as well
although seeing big names like Mascherano makes me slightly nervous, simply because all the players I'd never heard of at the start of the season performed so incredibly well. Once we start sounding like a proper team we'll edge back to midtable obscurity, I'm sure of it
but is there a half decent striker in the hwole of europe we aren't being linked with?
We have the advantage of not having to worry about top strikers being cup tied for the champions league.
Abysmal day for my fantasy team, but pretty much all the results are going the way I'd like them to.
1-0 down :(
It's weird though, I find it hard to be *that* interested in individual leeds games, because I still think it's a dead cert we'll be promoted.
we're pretty much winning constantly at home and a 50/50 away record would probs be fine, but we'd have been above forest with a win today :P
[all should hopefully pick me up some points tomorrow if they're high scoring]
I know what you mean. I can't wait for those two on MOTD tonight, they've sounded amazing.
I think one of the top4 meetings a season proves to be an excellent match, while the rest are let-downs. Although I thought Avram's first game in charge earlier in the season was a great game...
Every four or so seasons you get an absolutely classic top4 match though and I think we're due one of those. The last one in memory was Van Nistelrooy's last minute penalty miss against Arsenal. Incredible match.
Sky Sports just can't fail to get me excited... I think Liverpool - Utd has the potential to be an amazing game with the current squads and performances. I'm expecting Chelsea - Arsenal to be a little flat. We'll see.
i don't even care we lost. sorry, blackburn, well thats a lie. i do care but
OMG SANTA CRUZ HAT TRICK I LOVE YOU SO MUCH YAY YAY YAY
OMG I'M SO HAPPY
AND SO SAD
BUT SO HAPPY
BUT I LOVE YOU ROQUE
ROQUEEEEEEEEEE I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!
City Are Back! City Are Back!
but i cant be arsed to get into this.
but haven't scored yet - therefore - they will probably sneak it :(
today. Negative as fuck AGAIN. To go in 1-0 up at the break against canon fodder like Northampton and have to rely on a last minute equaliser to save a point is simply disgraceful.
Sort it out Calderwood.
is about as boring as anything.
and why the fuck is martins being taken off for viduka?
best Sutton United 4-1 away, so I'm happy. Through to the next round of FA Trophy. Liverpool tomorrow though!
why the quality of Conference football is so high is because until 2003 only one team was allowed to be promoted to League 2, meaning that lots of really good sides had to stay there. Having people like Peter Taylor managing in the division is great for profile as much as standards. Yes, Forest Green are doing really well, largely thanks to the brilliant Stuart Fleetwood (scored 2 today). Stevenage are pushing for promotion but I must agree with you on Weymouth, doing what Forest Green seem to have done for the last few seasons!
just got back from the City game. YIPPEE!!!
in any of the past few years we'd go 2-1 down in that fashion (IF WE SCORED ANY GOALS THAT IS) and just fucking brick. Heads would go down, the game would be over after 45 minutes. But today we actually came back from a deficit, we actually felt like we could win it. And a lot of it is down to the atmosphere: get the fans worked up and it's incredible, and most of the players just feed off it like fat kids on cake. Of course, City fans are amongst the most negative in the world (it's the working class Manchester attitude), but give them something to cheer about and the game is won. Seriously, nobody could be arsed in the first half, it was deathly silent. But after 15 minutes in the warm and a pint everyone was up for it, and BAM - immediate goal. And the second half's much better performance was inspired by the support.
Ok, you could argue it's a chicken/egg situation, but you only have to look at last season: terrible atmosphere, worst home record of anyone ever etc. This season: much better atmosphere (although slightly worse recently - i blame the cold), massively better performances, won every home game. And much, much worse away from home.
Ok, we were a bit rubbish today. Defence was shakey, goalie was shakey (at best), attacking was unsure of itself and ineffectual. But we pulled it out, went from terrible and losing to quite good and winning. And that's not something you'd be able to say for City over recent years - when we we're down, we we're down. You have to give credit to Sven at 1/2 time (because the first half was truly terrible) for realising that we needed to change to a more physical style of play. But full credit to the fans - they are indeed the 12th player. Or something
WOOOOOOOOOOOP!!! IT's MILLERTIME
did you see him on sky sports news right now? did you? did you? how does ANYONE get to be that brilliant?
although it sounds like the worst game in the history of football.
MOTD should be good tonight though.
i feel sad.
3rd goal for Tuncay in 3 games.
Not seen the goal yet but I hear it's a decent volley.
