Having mentioned in a previous thread that I can hear my housemate shout 'bam!' when he comes, and hear pretty much all conversation, albeit severely muffled, from his room upstairs, yet he is unable to hear anything from my room. Even if I've got the bass whacked up/arguing with someone.

Scientific reason pls?
