Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
(1) recognizes the Christian faith as one of the great religions of the world;
why are they even bothering doing this? And what was all that about the state and religion being separate? Though its not surprising considering how powerful religious groups are in america.
What does it achieve?
"Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
"(5) rejects bigotry and persecution directed against Christians, both in the United States and worldwide;"
This bit concerns me. Does this set some kind of legal precedent preventing criticism of Christianity?
Is questioning the existence of God publicly or challenging someone to explain/justify their beliefs 'bigotry and persecution'?
like some sort of pinko sonofabitch there, boy. i'd be a little more careful round heyar.
worldwide? ie. our country is no longer really a christian state. are america going to bomb us till we change back again?
Also - are they going to do something about the perscecuted christians in Sudan say? doubt it.
its so the people that voted for it can tell people they voted for it and that other people didnt.
i spose. You didnt vote for it, hence you support Islam and very probably terrorists too! And while it doesnt mean nothing, it shows how christian i am, and not the fact that we havent banned abortion, or gays, or divorce or nuffink, just fucked you over with taxes and that.
I was distracted and didn't read past the whole 'Whereas blah blah blah' bit. It is quite worrying
