what about the carbon cost of all these relatives driving up and down the country to spend time as a family? surely that is a big factor.
anyway yeah. too bad X-mas, your time has come
uses up carbon. As does me typing this. Fuck it, why don't we just tax breathing!
christmas because its shit?
'i dont like christmas, get me!' comment i see
then he raped and killed her.
but i really cant be bothered with christmas anymore. Im not religious and spending loads of money on stuff that people dont really want, and getting stuff that you dont really want. What are we celebrating anymore? I wouldnt mind all getting together and having a nice time with my family, but the concept of "christmas" leaves me cold.
that its all a bit forced? And once one is not celebrating anything, presents seem a bit pointless... just seeing people milling around having to buy presents for something they dont really believe in, why not just skip the presents, and just go and see your family, drink and eat loads, and what have you. Its all incredibly commercial, and nowt to do with anything. The same with valentines day - do you need a reason to be nice to you partner. and new years resolutions - do it now! And i dont really like birthdays either (well, my birthday at least. whos idea was it to celebrate this?). ps. i am not really incredibly grumpy.
Words fail me. Seriously, instead of trying to stop climate change, why not try and adapt to it?
It's too late. The world is too technological to just reverse everything in a couple of years. Let's try and cope with what climate change will bring.
"Greenpeace has been busy garnering support for its various initiatives from the web community. Earlier this month it teamed up with teenage social networking site Habbo to find out more about youngsters attitudes to global warming.
50,000 teenagers responded to the survey, with 74% rating global warming over drugs, violence and war as the issue they were most concerned about.
It has launched a 90 second video, aimed at gamers, in which iconic characters from each of the major manufacturers compete for a greener games console."
Sorry I didn't make it clearer.
The thing is, the pressure groups', and the government's focus seems to be on trying to reverse climate change, rather than coping with it's effects. A greener games console isn't going to save someone's life, if they live in East Anglia for example, and there is a deadly flood next summer. These green taxes, how are they actually being used?
Climate change is already happening, and it has always happened. Ever since the Ice Age, ice caps have always been melting. Sure, it might be happening a bit faster than it has done in the past, but we're never going to stop it.
Sorry if I sound like a cynical twat, but it's just an issue that interests me.
gd d ! why nt?
