Real or Synthetic?
I choose the latter - less of a mess.
That fresh smell of pine is priceless.
we use our yukka (sp?) plant. basically we put fairy lights on it and put the presents round it....saves time and money but I do feel like I belong to a weird family.
also, has anyone heard that this year it's 'in' to have an unside-down christmas tree? pointless.
It's stupid. (The upside-down tree thing, not the yucca thing. That sounds nice.)
I've gotten used to it (the yucca thing) but I still think my friends think I'm weird :P
Nah but really, trees are a pain in the ass and probably more trouble than they're worth. Consider yourself lucky!
memories of being brutally stabbed in the feet with pine needles in previous christmas's as a child, so I should count myself lucky!
one year we actually had a real live planted christmas tree in a pot, but it was only about 5 inches tall. it was cute but it died quite quickly :(
if you want to avoid nasty splinters and needles sticking in you all holiday, but real is much better for that delicious smell.
If you get a fake tree, find yourself some pine essential oil and put a few drops in water in a water spray and spray it on the tree, so you get the best of both worlds!
Artificial Christmas trees are ten million times better than real ones. They look much better, and have more of a christmas tree shape/colouring. Better for lights, decorations, prettiness, lack of needles everywhere. Basically - better looking, more cost efficient, less messy. Why do people ever get real ones...?
It'll melt away and her punishment will only have been hot feet and nausia from the noxious fumes.
as it is actually a christmas tree?
also real ones smell nice, dont actually make that much mess and look 100 times better than shitty fake ones.
Good ones don't look anything like that. We've used the same one all my life and it's completely beutiful - nothing like that at all.
The real one looks awful too, mind. Christmas trees should be dark green and thicker.
have had a fake tree for years now, it's a bit battered but it has lasted for so long and it still looks pretty good. But last year I think, they got a real one because it was easier to go round the corner for it than up into the atic for the fake one, and it was far more exciting, and fragrant, and Christmassy than t'other one.
The only problem with real ones is that the top branch is usually quite flimsy and therefore it is tricky trying to keep a star/fairy/angel on it.
It's so sad. We can't find another really nice one anywhere.
Clearly if you pick a good (expensive) real one, it's going to look exactly as it should, and it's not going to moult all over the place.
But the top looks all bare and strange.
Try this? (again, ignore kitty)
but, yeah, more or less that. And all the way to ceiling.
I think it'd be lovely to have a real one for a change. But since I've never had one, I can't really comment on which is better.
