is apparently how much raising a kid will set you back.

By my reckoning, I didn't cost my parents nearly that much; little to no childcare costs (although my parents income was obviously halfed by one of them staying home until my sisters and I were all at school), no nursery fees, no private education and they didn't pay for me to go to uni (they gave me about £100 at one point but that was it).

Obviously I was born and raised at a different time to that which this average was based on though. Using these figures, how much did you cost your parents?
