anyone heard/seen this..
read the about section.
I thought it was going to be all 'Black Power, brother' and 'Google is written by crackers for crackers...Let's take the power back' type 'ironic' shit.
pretty cool. although the title font should be changed
they could definitely make it look better
about some version of google that tailors its results towards black people.
quite how it would do that i was, frankly, fascinated to find out.
but the fact thatit's harder to read, uglier than Google, and a token effort to the max irritates me. I don't care if it shows awareness, who's going to see my homepage apart from me?
behaviour and attitudes are in a feedback loop. Actively trying to do something like this can only be beneficial to changing your own and others' attitudes
Unless I tell them about Blackle. Which will ultimately make no difference. You heard me.
I wish I'd thought of this
time for DIS to blacken up?
of any search look sweet too :)
it doesnt actually make a whole lot of difference, because the amount of energy that new monitors use....:(
that people would fucking read this. ^^
'Bottom line, if you’re running a PC with an LCD monitor, not only are you are not saving the environment by using Blackle, you’re actually using more electricity by using Blackle instead of Google.'
you're such a bunch of tards sometimes.
would be lot more energy saved if people turned their PC's and monitors off and tried to find out what they wanted by walking down their local library. THAT would be more of an energy-saver than changing a screen from white to black.
Still, small and ultimately pointless steps, eh?
to heat and light libraries?
and all those trees that are chopped down to make paper?
and all that oil used to make ink?
oh my god
Just the energy wated in writing that, you've sentenced 146 unfortunate children to be killed to death.
Think people, think!
i should start writing longer posts then.
You and creakykness will be up on genocide charges
I have set it as my home page. Not only saves the world but looks so cool too.
It's like how much more black could it be?
and you'd have to do a select to pick out the bits you wanted...
so not sure that this kind of screen image is gonna help me.
Still, makes a small change... for a small time...
ultimately token I know.
The only way the world is going to be saved from the energy crisis is if there is some massive scientific breakthrough or a radical change of mind from the world's governments and big businesses.
Little things are just going to minimally slow the inevitable but at least it shows an intent and awareness.
or global thermonuclear war
or viral pandemic
or meteor collision
wait, FOUR horsemen you say?
super volcanoes implode innit
that's what makes them super
let's call NBC
"Hi NBC. We have a new primetime armageddon show for you. It's called Horsee. It's about a supermegaglobal volcano virus that is going to save the world!"
spot the anagram
None more black.
you can see yourself in both sides
i'm presenting this to my office. hello payrise!
But it's not as good as the black skin I used to have on Firefox. Which no longer works after updates.
but i never actually use it, because i've already got a google input box in my safari window, so it's just an extra page to load that i don't need.
if they could find a way to make google energy-saving across the board without sacrificing function or userfriendliness, there'd be smiles all round.
[in reply to google's suggestion that one sets it as one's home page] my home page is my work's website. which is also black. energy-saving since 2005. damn right.
man lands on moon.
