I'm seeing it today, can't wait. Ready to be a little bit disappointed, but excited all the same.
im seeing it later on too... love the books, really curious to see the first film.
very disappointed. Well, not disappointed cos I'm only expecting a quite well made film which suffers horribly compared to the book.
Better than hoping against hope that they've done it justice THEN being disappointed.
It looks like they've fucked it in every conceivable aspect. And also that they've made it into a kids movie - which for some reason, I was kinda hoping would be avoided.
Still kinda want to see it though.
although i have to say my main reason to see it is so to hear the new kate bush song.
I'm more excited now.
if it's anything as good as the play then it'll be very good. Not as good as the book, but still...
the play was excellent. although the seats in that theatre were painful! 3 hours on those... ouch.
It made it better for me. Thought that just might be down to having Nicole Kidman pop into my head every time Ms Coulter was mentioned.
book but so it's bound to be a kids movie.
I'll go and see this. It got a good review in the Guardian as well-4 stars.
Exactly. Contentious. Full of contention. Bonefuls.
And it got 2 stars in the Times.
I did read some paper's (Guardian?) in the pub on Sunday that said reading the book will have helped as the film tends to blast through sequences that might not immediately make sense otherwise.
All shall be revealed at 4 pm. Weeeeeeeee!
The Subtle Knife was alright, but then the last one was the biggest load of elephants-on-wheels gash I'd read in my life, and undermined any quality from the first book. And Nicole Kidman does my head in, so I'll be giving this a miss.
Elephants on wheels kick all our asses.
Glad to see it cut-out of the stage version. After the great work before (and after) it, it just, well... ugh.
when you wonder why you're still reading. See also: the man-eating pigs in Hannibal.
the mulefa are cool.
'Songs About Mulefa'
Featuring Pocus Whiteface, MC CrabbyCrab and the Klaxons.
my expectations for this have dropped by a factor of 10 from last week to this, seeing it later though.
going to see it today later on.
i've been looking forward to this for years!
oh right he's anti-religion so it's "cool".
I'm only kidding so don't hate me.
