I was brushing up on some internet acronyms and found this.
But isn't it a bit obvious?
all internet arguments will reach a point where one party or another accuses their opponent of being a nazi?
I like it when that happens, it tends to mean that you have won.
not if you're the one to bring it up.
It seems to me that any conversational debate will throw up references to the Nazis or, more specifically, Hitler. Why bother stating that it's a Law, and naming it as such?
people who ever trot that line out are cunts.
It's a law because it is a recognised phenomena which has been seen to occur time and time again.
Why not have a law named for it?
Bitch at each other for long enough and you'll get comparisons to Cortes and Montezuma.
Can I call that one Langridge's Law? I suppose you'd pretty much get a carte blanche to name it what the fuck you want. So I'd probably come up with something more interesting.
because that is not 'recognised phenomena', indeed I have never heard of a single instance where a row has resulted in anyone being compared to Cortes or Montezuma.
It's actually so good. Overused, but yeah. These days, "hitler" is basically "the epitome of evil", so if an argument can stand up to the highest level of challenge, its a good one.
