Tribalfootball never lies
The world's most boring team bids for the world's most entertaining player.
Basically, why WOULDN'T he want to play for Boro?
- Doomed to mid-table mediocrity for the rest of their entire future
- Most they can hope for is a UEFA cup spot
- Offensive turnouts, even in matches with the top teams
10 million, i don't think so.
He's so clearly not gonna say "yes".
It sounds like the kind of thing Newcastle used to do periodically where they'd go after one of the world's best players purely so they could then claim "look, we've got ambition".
I'm as shocked as anybody else about it. I'm laughing purely because we don't have a chance in hell of pulling it off.
officially bid for Lennon?
I didn't think we did.
Do you think he's lodged bids for Phil Neville and Luke Chadwick too?
what if we got him?
i love boro.
...always go for the Brazilians!
you mean United?
think he was talking about Veron.
actually, was quite a fantastic passer, just didn't get enough games.
I think Ronaldinho could be the new Phil Stamp.
If so, there's a chance...
pie shops to swell his belly!
I love how all the Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal fans are getting all uppity about it. What's the matter, can't take a joke?
This is the only evidence from this season that Middlesbrough have any sort of ambition. I will love them forever, even if their slide towards relegation becomes more prominent.
It's making an incredibly ludicrous unrealistic gesture in an attempt to look like you're showing ambition. If Boro were going to show ambtion they ought to go for players who would be difficult to get but, if handled right, they would have a chance of signing.
What they've done is essentially the equivalent of an overweight, geeky 20-something virgin writing a love letter to one of Girls Aloud and then using as evidence that "I have tried to get a girlfriend".
I was willing to settle with the ginger one
For the 20-something virgin as it obviously has no chance to work for Boro...
I have no idea you were that sensitive. If 'Boro sign Ronaldinho will you jump off a bridge?
I genuinely don't understand what you've said at all.
Personally I couldn't care less whether Boro sign him or not (although it'd be nice if they'd delay it 'til after the play Bristol City in the 3rd round of the FA cup). I just question whether making bids for players they don't stand a chance of getting in anyway constitutes genuine ambition.
I find it quite amusig, being a boro fan and all.
Its obviously a PR stunt by Gibson and Lamb, but I honestly dont think we are trying to show our ambition, for a start where in the relegation zone and that really isnt a sign of ambition and the sooner we get out of it, the better.
And, i think that Ronaldinho would be absolutely awful in our squad, no fight, no passion, just a ridiculous amount of flair and skill, whcih to be fair isnt going to keep us up.
Cattermole and Ronaldinho in the middle? I think not.
You've got a pretty reasonable side, money, support and an alright manager. Why are you so shit?
