she can succesfully claim she doesn't use illegal substances?.......pffftt
they can exclude David Healy whilst still including some golfer guy no-one's heard of?
have two parallel championships: one for the athletes and then a chemists championship too.
why no Healy? This is stupid! I do think both boxers should be on the list though. And Hatton (my brother.....maybe) will win it if he wins in the fight next week.
genuinely achieved something- whilst playing Northern Ireland (can you possibly stress this enough) he has become the top scorer in European Championships qualifiers ever. And Northern Ireland are not renowned for their midfield.
So... he should have won, to my mind. Him or Hamilton, if not one of them boxers (not that I would ever even dream of paying any attention to boxers, I'm far too middle-class, although I understand they're both incredibly good).
for 'nearly' getting his team to the finals though. That'd be like giving it to Peter Crouch. Well, he did score against Croatia, and England ever so nearly beat them...
I know what you're saying - fair play to him for doing that. But ultimately, he's not won anything - or come close.

has had a phenomenal year, and is now Europe's Number One.
then they should just give it to Ian Holloway or something and cancel the award until he dies.
to giving it to Holloway all the time.
Ricky Hatton and that Flloyd Ponceyarsetwat from the States? Give it to Hatton when he beats the shit out of him.
I swear I had a BRILLIANT answer for this once... it's gone...
Joe Calzaghe should fight Ricky Hatton for Sports Personality of the Year.
Either them or Stiv McClaren.
