Upcoming Films

lost_in_silence [Edit] [Delete] 23 replies 19:07, 24 November '07

So what films coming out in the not so distant future are you excited about? Personally I am looking forward to The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, with it's Brad Pitt based acting and its Nick Cave based soundtrack. On a more disposable note I must admit that Fred Claus is calling to me. Deep down everyone loves a festive film. I just hope that this is better than the last Christmas film I saw in the cinema. Christmas With The Kranks was hell :|

      • Fred Claus looks rubbish.

What would be nice would be a festive film WITHOUT all the corny, sappy, stupidness. Even then, I still probably wouldn't wanna see it 'cos it'd still be a Christmas movie.

Planet Terror came out yesterday. I'd like to see that. Can't think of anything else that's really shouting out to me.

        • 2009

Apparently. It has been delayed and someone on this web based place reckons that Grindhouse has something to do with that. I never saw that film, was it that bad?

          • I dunno

            I don`t think I`ve seen a new film this year :S

      • I'm looking forward to I Am Legend...

Despite having possibly the worst title of all time, Will Smith is in it, and that man is a legend of the highest calibre.

even if they have used the american title for the book, and removed the word altheiometer and most of the references to the corruption and abolition of organised religion.

darjeeling ltd, is that out yet? i wonder if anywhere in newcastle is showing it.

sigur ros heima, haven't seen it yet but as part of the northern european film festival in gateshead their showing it.

erm, thats it probably i don't really go to the cinema very often.

        • most brilliantly bloody trailer of the year

ps.anyone know a place i can stream/dl benders big score without resorting to torrents?

          • Is blade runner being played at the cinema?

            because that would be cool

otherwise i'm looking forward to no country for old men.

Dunno about darjeeling - I have a thing for the wes anderson films which aren't seen as the good ones (ie. i'm not a big fan of rushmore or royal tenenbaums but I really like the other two) so I guess I think his films are inconsistent and I have no idea if i'll like it or not.

            • I've just seen The Darjeeling Limited,

and it's not as funny or sad as his best but it doesn't really matter as the film is enjoyably entertaining anyway. Great music as always.

I saw the trailer for the Jesse James film. It looked fantastic, brilliant cinematography. I think it could be the best film of the year. It's supposed to be quite Malickesque, so yeah, really looking forward to it.

              Also:
              There will be blood
              No country for old men
              Be kind rewind
              The Golden Compass

              • The Golden Compass

                and The Dark Knight.

              • I loved Darjeeling Limited

some of it was kind of irritating but otherwise highly enjoyable. I love 'travel' films no matter how shite they may be, anyway. Crossroads - amazing! Eurotrip - genius!

          • No Country For Old Men

Looks like it could maybe be the best film ever. Seriously seriously can't wait.

I saw Darjeeling last night, what a disappoitment! As a massive Wes Anderson fan, and Rushmore being one of my favourite films ever, i was saddened by the absolute drivel of a film it was. The script was terrible, and all my laughs were forced. Few funny moments, but urgh. What a bummer.

            • the jesse james film

is supposed to be mindblowingly good. apparently brad pitt wanted it to be six hours long or something daft, i think it's the only film i've wanted to see in like ODEON since i had a date in year 11. i apprehensively want to see beowulf but i'm afraid it's going to ruin the whole thing.

          • no country for old men

is my favourite film this year hands down.
