this poster has been exposed at Holborn tube station for nearly two weeks now. Amazing! I hope they keep it there:
There's a dodgy pub in Sheffield which has Vic & Bob tour posters, Cast single releases etc still on the wall.
I played an Echobelly single to myself when I got in last night as well. It's all about regression.
one about regression. Keep up!
It was Insomniac. It's always Insomniac.
that has posters from about 1994 clearly visible in a closed passageway. oxford circus maybe? they're advertising bjork's first album and definitely maybe :D
my childhood bedroom you've stumbled across?
with the rents as they are in central london, i imagine a closed, dark, filthy tunnel in oxford circus station would still go for more than either of us could afford.
As if to prove that point, my five-bedroom terraced house in South Derbyshire was recently sold - and fetched £110,000. Which, in Central London, would get my two parking spaces in Shoreditch:
i'll have to go look...
there are posters on a derelict building for singles by David Devant and Cake from 1996 - COOL not AWESOME
PLease please please stop using that word.
terrible grammar and quotation marks.
Also a poster of Radiohead playing the FLeece & Firkin supporting the Drop Nineteens - a sort of Mike Diver band from years ago
that one of my workmates is pals with two of the auteurs, including luke, and she's gonna try to nab some uber rare stuff off them for me. she had inspiral carpets sleeping on her floor once. not so cool.
Get some stuff for me. From anyone. Including locks of Tom Hingley's hair.
AND ADVERTS FROM A RECORD STORE!
although i was that excited.
At Holloway Road part of the sign on the platform has come down and you can see the old lettering.
to find a massive Mega City 4 sticker and 'Senseless Things Rule!!!' carved into her desk at the secondary school she works at in Guildford.
Like finding the relics of a lost generation of Home Counties indie kids.
if you pulled the drawers out of the desks then most of them had all kinds of stuff scrawled on them, going all the way back to the eighties...
a big metal roadsign near where I live until about five years ago, and spraypainted in white on the back in such a way that you couldn't miss it were you driving through was 'SLADE'.
The last major football tournament for which England failed to qualify!
The grunge dream died.
and unsure of which camp to stand in.
a while back [used to go to aldwych station]. the posters are all still up from whenever it was last open. it's like being in an episode of doctor who. kind of. also the route map on the wall of the stairs is really ancient and yellowed. it's quaint looking.
1994 - 1997 are prob my fav years ever, also see 2003 (but for different reasons).
not happy years really - maybe 18 months were, but a 'good time' for music, or so I thought though I recall someone asking me to turn off 'Isn't Anyhing' LOLZ HOW THINGS CHANGE
cant remember which station it was at but i saw a similar thing with film posters.
it was the original 'clerks' release.
i took a photo too.
