just as I was getting into them, I can no longer seem cool for liking them.
what song of theirs?
someone who posts (used to post?) on DiS picks the music, don't they? They got Bonnie Prince Billy on once too.
a few times as well i might add
when gilly was in the changing rooms, or was that a myth?
really cant see them letting their music be on hollyoaks.or are you taking the piss?
69 love songs is an incredible piece of work
Magnetic Fields are incredible. SO much emotional depth.
yeah they write pretty simple pop songs with an eccentric twist, but everything about them is just so, perfect. the look, or lack of, the lyrics are hilarious, torturing and beautiful.
they are ace. no more should be said on the matter
in the hollyoaks paedophile storyline thread, someone mentioned the '28 days latter' music and another person said godspeed, film4 made 28days latter so maybe they still have rights to the song.
refuse to let the music they did be released on the soundtrack album?sorry.i just find it really bizarre that godspeed would be on hollyoaks.but amazing at the same time.ill shut up now
gospeed got fucked over by the man. I am gonna chose to believe it is true because godspeed + hollyoaks = hilarity
"the 28 Days Later music" not actually Godspeed though?
east hastings is the song I think
it's just not the song people are thinking of when they talk about it.
so there might have been confsion and they werent on hollyoaks, this is gonna bug me now I wanna no for sure.
is the one from the end of the film ("In the House - In a Heartbeat" by John Murphy), rather than East Hastings.
they used to play 'Suffocate' by King Adora just as somebody was about to snuff it
Hello, yes i do have a hand in picking the music on hollyoaks, I'm glad people notice when we manage to get some more obscure stuff on, we have to stick to a certain critera, so its not like we can just stick any track on.
Until very recently we had to ask permission for every track from the publisher.
In the time i have been there we have used:
Maps, Howling Bells, Los Campesinos, Bonnie P Billy, Magnetic Fields, Does it offend you yeah?,Alterkicks,Bonobo, Yppah, Caribou, Assembly Now, Hadouken,
amongst many others.
Whenever i use a band im trying to give them more exposure cos i like them, i know hollyoaks is not everyones cup of tea but it does open up the music to a lot of people and a lot of the viewers check what is used and get into a band that way.
Normally the bands seem quite happy for being given the exposure, we've helped a lot of smaller bands and independent labels and publishers.
The track was indeed 'in a house, in a heartbeat' not godspeed.
I asked for some suggestions from people on here last year and have managed to use a few in the programme, some heavily featured, any more would be welcomed!
