I echo the sentiments of Daianna, Houston
you fucking cultural Marxist
are a moron.
Plenty of people aren't. You cultural marxist.
I think a kid being brought up by gay dads or mums would be pretty strange. But if its from birth, then maybe not. It'd only be like being brought up by your mum and her friend or something wouldnit?
and it makes me think that you are a complete and utter dickhead. why is it that you chose to make stupid comments every time sophia makes a thread that seem more like a silly little immature fool, than the sometime intelligent poster that you like to view yourself as?
parsefone dont gratify yourself with the assumption you upset me.
i know what you're about.
and i know what im about.
i totally win
people who derive any sort of pleasure from hurting others are scum
"her board persona doesn't bother me at all, though it can be fun making fun of her!"
You're stirring a little bit here.
PS. I don't think I've ever actually seen you (successfuully) make fun of anyone.
to post why you aren't riled by it is enough satisfaction for me.
What were you expecting?
surely the gays and the marxists and the lefties who run the country have silenced this kind of thinking already?? hang on....
we must stay within the law.
Perhaps lewd ridicule, or an insincere and ribald myspace page 'dedicated to' MP.
How can we subvert her?
Have you got a better link than sophia's?
I'm glad I saw this before clicking on the link. I don't read articles by her because they generally just put me in a bad mood
It's pointless me reading it.
good, pointless picture.
NONE OF THIS TWO-LADY MUM NONSENSE!
This debate made me want to throw myself out of the car window on the way to work this morning. Some posh bint trying to justify why it's a bad idea to have two lady parents.
they don't make TV programmes about things that aren't right, right?
I trust TV to guide me through.
My Two Dads
for some reason while adoption by same sex parents isnt a bad thing at all as far as im concerned, the creation of a child artificially for a non-biological family seems a bit off. Mainly cause I'm a bloke and feel like I'll probably be phased out in the near future.
Still, sperm-factory, sounds like fun...
to conclude, Melanie Phillips is a vile vile columnist, and while this article skirts near an important issue and nearly makes a valid point, she manages to sound like a condesending nazi arse in the process to the point of caracature.
Cleared that up? No? Ok.
If you can't disagree with gay parenting without being branded a nazi, its a poor do.
but I don't think she can. Assessment obviously a little clouded by previous work, but she could've made the point without sounding quite so obnoxious. As I could of without labeling her a fascist. Touche.
the most evil dangerous woman on in this country since thatcher.
PS I am an early example of fatherlessness, he was a 'mere donor'
how/why has she got so much power to stee/align peoples opinions
its not fair i tell you
your exactly what melanie phillips is worried about. nb this is a good thing!
but I probably don't want to
SORT IT OUT PLS!
...what is a cultural marxist?
us all to get cocks in our ass according to our needs, and contribute cocks to bums according to our means
I vote Jamie. I'm easily swayed.
"Cultural Marxism is a form of Marxism that adds an analysis of the role of the media, art, theatre, film and other cultural institutions in a society. As a form of political analysis, cultural marxism gained strength in the 1920s, and was the model used by a group of intellectuals in Germany known as the Frankfurt School; and later by another group of intellectuals at the Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies in Birmingham, England. The fields of Cultural Studies and Critical theory are rooted in (and remain influenced by) Cultural Marxism."
Well I'm glad that's clear now.
Oh right... Marxism.
You might not agree with her, but why is it worrying everyone?
If someone was saying the opposite - gay parents make great families - people would either not care or be in firm agreement.
I thought it was quite a funny article myself. Unless she's some sort of family psychologist with years of research into different kinds of parenting, then she's got just as much authority on the issue as you or me.
but people listen to her, but not us.
but then if they're dim enough to be influenced by her, they're beyond any hope at all, right?
if the majority are all dim then you have dim government
if a 'dim government' did get in, there'd be a reason for it. I don't think it would simply be people's misguided prejudices, either.
10000 dimwits who have never made much of an effort with political analysis or considering other peoples points of view with generic opinions led by Melanie phillips
wightylews/chiaroscuros/caviar and cigarettes/smiladelics/proles/drnovolcalchords/restlessboys etc
Which is why I am not happy with this democracy, and is why it is crap
Its the fairest way to do things, surely? The majority vote wins. What most people want is what everyone gets, whether the majority are retards or wizards.
I'm fine with it, just as long as the Lib Dems don't get in. If they do, I'll take your attitude and probably end up emigrating.
Plurality. Big difference
could be cleverer, but they have just been made to switch off and robotically repeat whaqt others say.
Some people think more than others, others have a tendancy to just follow what they are told/suggested to do, as a politician you can either pursue policies that you believe to be correct or you can try to use methods to grab the 'easily suggestable'
This means that it is merely a competition to see 'who wins'
It means that the much vaunted positive benefits of democracy are nullified.
Anyway I do not recognise or resect the wishes of the 10000 above the 9999.
They will be able to employ agents to physically comply with their laws and rules, but I do not recognise the right of these people to govern me, based on 10000 rather than the 9999 (for sake of argument).
I have not agreed or condescended to it.
There is NO contract between me and the state.
(although they can enforce my compliance by restricting my resource and my freedom)
the arguments never won, one way or another. hence humanity continues to bumble its way along.
to creaky ^^ well, we have to teach people that a)therent are such moral certainties (thats why no one would come out and strongly agree with lesbian families - were just all happy with it) and teach critical thinking. its funny that melanie phillips thinks shes in a corner when shes writing an article in one of the biggest selling newspapers in the country.
maybe shes preaching to less and less people?
they talk a lot, but never actually do anything about it.
I'd be quite content if she turned round one day and revealed her articles were jokes to rile people up.
Even though it is the Daily Mail, she's got a lot of balls writing an article like that in such a popular newspaper.
NO ARTISTIC MERIT
Or any similar reactionary disagreement, lacking in reason or explanation.
and some tit phoned in to say that it was all a terrible idea because families with no dad just sponge off the state, because apparently women are just workshy flibbertigibbets, while men have a biological imperative to show that they are virile by going out and doing a high-powered job. he went on to say that, apparently, not one woman in the land holds a senior job, cos they can't hack it. yup, that's the level of brainpower in the country - I'm so glad to be sharing oxygen with such great minds.
"Fatherlessness lies at the heart of just about every social ill our society faces, from educational failure to drug abuse to violent crime."
I will take this article seriously when this statement can actually be proven.
because they imply that my sister can't raise her son well enough with her (female partner) for him to have as good a childhood as he would have had had he been raised by the scrawny reprobate to whom she was married.
not (female partner), that sounds like I'm trying to whisper it.
the sentiments of her argument and many of the points she portrays as fact are bollocks I think it does raise some interesting related issues. I've always found it strange that we live in a society which bemoans the loss of the father figure but yet gives very little in the way of legal rights to access or custody to fathers.
she is a special kind of hypocrite.
She has berated British muslims on many occasions through her column and when appearing on television/radio for what she perceives as a lack of loyalty to our country.
However, she herself has declared that were the UK ever to go to war with Israel, that she, as a jew, would have to leave the country in order to side with her 'homeland'.
Sounds like the kind of talk that would get your door kicked in at 5am and a semi-automatic shoved in your face if you said that in a mosque.
But, I think she has a point here. True, she doesn't express her views very well (but, when has she ever?), but, it would be wrong to discount this line of thinking entirely.
You must consider the fact that the vast majority of people in the UK (and to an even greater extent worldwide) most probably share this viewpoint.
How can we, a veritable handful of liberal, urban teenagers and 20/30 somethings unilaterally declare ourselves to be correct and the overwhelming majority to be wrong?!
Yes, it would be nice if everyone would just accept the lives that others lead, but, we have to deal with the world as it is, not, the world that we wish we lived in.
yep yep yep
