I feel absolutely knackered this morning, but my hair looks alright.
i spent it up in the luvverly north.
to say the least. Woke up late on saturday, thus ruining any plans I had of going out, and elected to watch the football instead. Went to an old friends house on saturday night, which was nice. Spent sunday re-watching the 3rd series of Lost. Now I have to look after the house for a week.
no She's A Star?!
saw some good films from the film festival. went to a party at my mates on friday night and promptly fell asleep on the sofa (which was much needed and enjoyable, sod it). also my housemate came home which is rather wonderful to see the fine fellow.
I went to the Dickensian winter wonderland that is Canterbury. It was most pleasant.
i bought some nice lamps and a heater yesterday, so my flat now has light and heat. so i think i'm back living in the 21st century now?
on friday my train tickets booking didn't work, so i had to buy them again and now i have to try and get my money back
then it took about three hours to get back from hammersmith
then i only had 4.30 hours sleep before i was meant to be going to see my grandparents for the first time in years, which i was really excited about.
then i couldn't go due to illness
then didn't really have a sat night due to illness.
but yesterday was ppretty good, had buff buff buff scrambled eggs for breakfast, then watched a movie, then did some stuff, then went for a curry buffet, though it wasn't at the gaylord tandori as i had planned, but it was truely tasty though i tried to eat WAYYYYYY too much, then went to a nice pub, then had a smoke, but it knocked me out a bit.
all in all fri + sat = 2/10, yesterday = 8/10, purely for the meal.
Dull, expensive and non exciting.
Had a nice meal on Friday night and drinks. Wasted Saturday by doing nothing, except watch Die Hard 4.0 (which was excellent.) Seriously, I want most of that Saturday back, I don't know why I insisted on doing bugger all.
Sunday had a big meal out with entire family. Found out 2 of my cousins are in some improv-noise band. They gave me a CD; it's quite good. Played Gears of War in the evening.
Beowulf was a bit rubbish, I paid back a pretty big debt to someone and was landed with some potentially very bad news.
Roll on the next one!
Saturday & Sunday - 3/10
I was DJing in Hitchin which was fun, as my friends came into the venue they saw a large group of girls walking out saying 'the first band were good but the DJ is just fucking terrible'. I never thought that one Otto Von Shirach tune would cause that much of an outrage! Saturday was okay, went out with the boy and had the most amazing burger in the world, and Sunday was pretty unexpected yet eventful/dramatic...
Lots of stuff happened that was very exciting, most of all that I played lots of Super Mario Galaxy. Oh, and I bought gAame which might be the best album I've heard all year.
I saw you in the German markets on Friday night! I thought to myself "Wow, a real live DiSer, who I didn't recognise prior to wasting my days on DiS". Then I carried on drinking. That gluwein is hype!
Yeah, I'm completely hooked on Gluhwein. And just so you know, I normally hang out with really hip people and not just my girlfriend's parents.
i tried to book Aa for a gig in manchester but apparently they have no intention of coming over here in the near future.
gAme is amazing though.
Any band with three drummers and lots of screaming can't fail to impress me.
*realises this is probably what happened when Boredoms played and I was doing some terrible In The City show*
Some really good things happened.
Two unimaginably horrible things happened. I'll give two for the short period before those things.
watched a lot of Sex and the City, slept a lot, went to the supermarket, tidied my room, watched Bottle Rocket (which is ace), slept more, went to Japanese writing class, watched a lot of the OC, cried, went to bed, Monday.
and watch Bottle Rocket. I know very little about it, but from what i do know, I can't fail to like it.
it was much more like the other Wes Anderson films than I expected. And Luke Wilson looks just like Jamie Summers in it!
I sat in with MBV on the set of their new video for their version of 'I Will Make Love To You' and then danced on a table for two please with Ptior from Adorable at the Blue Post.
between 0/10 and 8/10
friday evening: dinner with old friend and then we went and had a few drinks with my flatmates.
saturday afternoon: walking round regents park doing some cheapskate animal spotting at the zoo (giraffes! zebras! sheep!) before eating sausage and mash.
sunday: ikea for lunch & shopping (mmm swedish meatballs! marabou chocolate!).
dirty fucking italians.
we're going to deep fry your pizzas.
ADF on Saturday night were mighty good too.
So was I
i was there on my lonesome too.
remember a blonde bouncing infront of you, then turning around and giving you a funny look?
i thought it was you actually, but couldn't be sure!
I genuinely met a woman called Dawn Stairs.
This made me so happy.
no Sit Down?!
fri - met up with the lovely hannah, ate yummy food and went to watch archie bronson outfit. unfortunately it was at 229 but archie made up for it.
sat - went to see yeasayer at catch. watching them live makes me very happy. got drunk, talked to nice people and danced lots and lots.
sun - spent the day with one of my best friends in the comfort of her beautiful flat. came home and watched a benecio del toro double bill (fear & loathing/21 grams).
i give my weekend 10/10.
One of the girls in my halls had to go into hospital in agony and the hospital doesn't know what's wrong, and had a horribly awkward conversation with my ex about basically how I am not over our relationship and she most certainly is. Ouch.
friday - went to 93 ft east, had an amazing burger, saw a crap band, was a bit tired so went home to bed.
saturday - SAW GIRLS ALOUD. queue jumped, drank lots of whiskey, took loads of photos.... then got the nightmare bus. as documented in my thread.
sunday - lazed, did nothing. had a curry. :)
since I honestly can't remember when.
Friday night, a swift whiskey then homeward bound.
Saturday played rugby and got spear tackled. I now understand why they are illegal. I am still in tremendous pain/agony and couldn't sleep because I hurt so much.
Sunday I lay around trying to sleep/hurting. I had a curry. It was good, but my sauce was really oily - upset me. Did some Gladiator karoke (AM I NOT MERCIFUL?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) then went to bed to not sleep.
Friday night my band, Pris_ played a gig and that was AWESOMELY FUN - was great to see some very very old friends as well as the 'new' lot turn up. Then danced at Trailor Trash till almost closing.
Saturday went shopping and bought a pretty sexy dress which I can't wait to wear out... to the right place... Saturday night went out to dinner and then to the Arcade Fire gig with Part-Of and it was brilliant - so visually entertaining... although the sound at Ally Pally was a bit shit. Then we went to new club night, Nuke Em All which was fucking way cool and out there. I had a really really good time... I mean, really.
Sunday lazed around until about 3pm and then met up with the boyz for late lunch in Hoxton Square... followed by lots of red wine at The George and Dragon, singing out loud at the top of my lungs to songs like 'If I could turn back time'... met some lovely new people, stood up on the chairs in there and got into trouble... Ummm... got home about midnight rather drunk but suprisingly am not hungover in the slightest at all today! Yay me.
In all, a weekend full of good music and great company from Friday through to Sunday night. It's been a tip top weekend. If only they were all like that.
Fri - ridiculously early morning Eurostar to London (The new St Pancras terminal is not bad at all, and 30 mins off the journey tiem even better). Day spent in the London office. Couple of beers afterwork.
Sat - Went to a wedding that was really, really good fun. Got ridiculously drunk and danced more than I have done in ages.
Sun - Surprisingly, managed to get back to London in time to catch the 12:30 Eurostar. Because the new lounge was not ready, received a goody bag containing Champagne, chocolate and a voucher for more champagne. So not bad.
Went to some gig.
stayed in with friends and watched Breakfast at Tiffany's then miraculously my hocky team won convincingly, managed to block all memory of the football from my mind, then went out to a club and managed to only spend £4 the entire night, woke up on sunday feeling fresh and not hungover. Pretty good.
working all weekend and later today, but people I work with are nice and it was busy. Finaly watched science of sleep which I really enjoyed and found out about bjork tour.
what did you get up to?
