Just finished watching the series 3 boxset. Anyone know what was going on at the end?
who was in the coffin? was it locke?
is kate with sawyer now?
why did i leave my sandwiches at home today?
these are the questions i remember being raised when i saw it.
were actually "flashforwards" to a time after they're off the island.
apparently this is a device that's going to be used more in season 4.
I think its a fairly logical progression.
but i reckon flashing forward to the future when they are off the island has the potential to a) confuse the fuck out of everyone and b) ruin the suspense/mystery of the 'present day' bit ie who lives/maks it off the island?
i think most peoples brains can cope with flash forwards too and the mystery is still there, i mean we still dont know how they got off the island, or who else did? or why they want to go back, and who those people are who jack rang on the phone, if anything it added even more mystery to the plot using the flash forward
but if they do it every week it would spoil the mystery, shirley?
to find out what happens at some point!
its going to have to start unravelling at some point.
(i secretly hope it doesn't though. mystery FTW!)
that it'll look like everything has been explained and wrapped up and then there'll be some MASSIVE mindfuck in the very final scene.
what has happened to the people off the island is as much a part of the story as what has happened to them on it.
it's actually something of a logical progression if you think about it.
plus, it massively widens the scope for how they can plot and structure things and allows them to throw in loads more mindfucks.
because everyone is getting too old to be able to do flashbacks.
'Cause of the writers strike and that. Roll on January...
This programme = dogshit
I watched most of the 1st series but it got so convoluted I gave up
It tries way to hard. I gave up after the first episode of the second series when it became clear that the writers had no idea where the story was going and it was getting beyond ridiculous.
from the very first episode, I don't know why people say this ^
was where it was all just getting started!
with the hatch, and Desmond and stuff. brilliant.
there are about 967483763454 other threads on this board, and i'm sure one or two of them will be about things you like.
so why not go and post in them about something you DO like, rather than expelling further pointless negativity into the world?
and you're pretty much wrong anyway. People saying the writers have no idea where they're going is pretty funny, to be honest. And obviously the words of someone who doesnt follow the show..
the writers freely admitted they didn't know which direction they were taking the show.
We have three more series left, and so the writers know exactly how many episodes they need to write from this point on. Before this, the TV network were refusing to let them know how long they wanted the show to go on for
It's only going to get better from now on, methinks. And I've fookin' loved it up til now
Answers my below question.
I can see how people would love this show, I just lost interest pretty quickly
It's only natural that the writers would have to try and pad it out somehow. It's not like a soap opera - there's clearly a definite end to this whole crazy lump
Despite this, I've loved pretty much every episode I've ever seen. They suck me in like a sexy Dyson
is playing detective, trying to pick up on clues and figure out what is going on, and of course that wouldn't have been possible!
because it isn't finished yet.
there are, however, plenty of clues and threads to pick up on.
what you read. sorry!
THANK YOU KEVTHEONE FOR OPENING MY EYES YOU HAVE SAVED ME FROM WATCHING MORE SHIT YOU HERO
DIFFERENT TO YOURS AND ON THE INTERNET AND EVERYTHING
And just out of curiousity, does it have more direction now? I was well aware that the writers were just kinda meandering in the first series but am curious as to whether or not they've settled on a plot yet
and just being pointlessly negative. guess which catagory that post fell into??!?!?!
for not liking a TV show. It being so trivial, you can dislike it just because you do.
And it was just a post on a very trivial matter on the internet by someone who means sod all to you, so not worth being annoyed or offended by
misinterpreted my all capitals response somewhat.
Ah sod it, this is a pointless argument :D
not the result of annoyance though?
there's some right nob-ends in this thread
