Gideon's Bible
The guy in work who seems to think I'm the only non-religious person in the world just gave me, as he promised he would, a copy of the Gideon's New Testament.
This is all because I went to some 'response to Richard Dawkins' meeting that the CU here held and subsequently had a very brief one sided debate with him. He's also invited me to to go his church at some point.
He basically said 'As a christian I want everyone to be saved like I am'. Isn't that slightly presumptuous? I take it to mean 'I am going to heaven, whilst you are going to hell'. Isn't that God's decision? Can't you be a Christian and still go to hell or is that all cancelled since JC didn't-actually-die for our sins?
I was also kind of hoping for the full bible, Gideon's is only the New Testament and the Old Testament always struck me as the more interesting one...
