Would you class her as xenophobic?
her character in the final film is just bizarre.
but you can't deny her character is a little ridiculous in Resurrection.
at times it works well and you can see little bits of alienness in the way she acts, but at other points it just looks silly. they should've stopped after the second film imo.
the prison one was deeply depressing for many reasons
(my dad refuses to buy it because he thinks it's shit) but I know the general storyline.
is my favourite.
Seriously, Alien³ is your favourite? Get a fucking grip!
especially when you consider the fourth
eg. Aliens > Alien > Alien Resurrection > Alien3.
is utter shit
Aliens : 10
Alien : 9.5
Alien III : 6.5
I don't want to rate the rest...
30-odd minutes of Alien but I preferred Aliens to it at any rate, and with the exception of the 3rd film, all of them seem to end in the same sort of way....blow up ship, alien gets sucked into space, sort of thing.
They aren't going to end with Ripley sitting down for tea with the alien's parents.
but I like the sounds of the ending you just mentioned :D
Jeez, Alien³ is just a rehash of the first film with less good people and less good directing, God though Fincher is.
Alien: Resurrection is Buffy vs. Firefly vs. Alien. It's fucking hilarious. Hey, where else could they go but a black comedy? Props to them for going for it.
Stellar fucking cast, too.
I vaguely recall being told her character was originally a man
No one else seemed to get it, though. :(
4 is arse and 3 (despite its flaws) is a far better movie than its given credit for and it pisses all over Aliens. I loved the second instalment when it was first released but i dont think its stood the test of time too well. All that 'gung-ho, we're gonna kick-ass' shit has really cemented it to the Reaganite era it emerged in. Plus its the odd one out as its just an action movie with none of the chilly scares and atmosphere of Ridley Scott's original masterpiece. So there!
