Which Xbox 360 games?

connelltheking [Edit] [Delete] 13 replies 16:29, 28 October '07

I read one of these t'other day but I'm getting one for christmas. Which games should I go for apart from halo 3 obviously. Apparently rainbow 6 vegas is good. Also, any tips for getting online?

  • Crackdown

is a lot of fun. Gears of War. Dead Rising. What's the one with the undersea world in it - Bioshock.

I don't know too many of the more recent games though - there seem to be loads coming out all the time.

  • Call Of Duty 3

is my favourite 360 game, great fun on Xbox Live and unlike games like Halo the single player is brilliant.

  • I'm Getting one soon

anyone know anywhere doing any good bundles or offers?

  • I'd recommend

Call of Duty 3, for sure, brilliant if brief single-player mode with an addictive online mode (anyone that's already got it, add me, I play COD3 an awful lot, gamertag 'Aldous Ciruela'). Although, by christmas, Call of Duty 4 will be out, so perhaps that instead?

Dead Rising is initially frustrating, but if you get it, stick at it, get past the first few hours, it soon reveals itself to be one of the most engaging and best designed games on the 360.

Also, as like-eating-glass said, the Wireless adaptor is rubbish, it'll only cause you problems online. If you've got cable internet, just get an ethernet cable, it'll cost you about £10-15, and if you've got ADSL, see if you can use an ethernet cable to connect your xbox upto your computer, and then connect to the net from that.

  • the new PES

you'd be a fool not to get pro evo i reckon.

i want a 360 so badly... i really can't afford to waste my overdraft but it's so tempting, once the new gta is out i doubt i'll be able to resist.

    • i wouldn't bother

with Lost Planet or Crackdown, both a bit mediocre...

Get Halo 3, play it for two weeks, then get Call OF Duty 4, play that for 2 weeks, then get Assassin's Creed. Then swap them about until April when GTA4 comes out!

      • Lost Planet

is great! It's like one of those old 16-bit Japanese shooters; really solid and well designed. The plot etc is skippable of course.

And Crackdown - ok maybe rent it. It's like a super-powered GTA but there aren't any side missions. I just like jumping around.

  • All the ones I was going to

suggest have been said, but seriously, you need Gears of War in your life - it's amazing.

I bought Flatout Ultimate Carnage today, it's quite good but can be frustrating at times.

Team Fortress 2 is just wonderful, definitely get that!
