an r'n'b/garage place that does 'decent' nights on a saturday please?
don't ask. thanks.
they used to have DJ EZ there every week.
All the kids at school loved EZ!
(Makes no sense)
is this 60s or 00s definition?
get with the programme
loads of places in the west end, surely?
basically my old flatmates mates are coming up to 'landan' from reading. :S
they usually go out in Liquid/Venom etc and are into r'n'b/pop/garage/chav-indie.
the bday girl has already suggested Tiger Tiger but my old flatmate doesn't want to be in a group of girls in l.sq that we usually take the piss out of.
her friend is unaware that there aren't really massive mega-clubs in london....
I'm being dragged there on Sat.
I probably won't be able to stand.
but otherwise the above may happen.
though i don't know what infernos is.

Hot Pants or Boob Tubes
do you think the girls that go there will care/be too drugged to notice?
if they're only wearing half an outfit, yes.
Possibly the most aptly-named club within the M25.
i understand at least one unit of rohypnol is included in the door charge.
Maybe get the latest Time Out and have a leaf through. I think their clubs coverage is usually pretty good.
the music was okayish until midnight, then it went all totally r&b.
i wouldn't call it 'good' though. hmm i'm gonna have to wrack my brains to think of somewhere from about four years ago that was definitely all r&b. they played the original 'all night long' by the mary jane girls! :)
are you doing a friend's birthday duties too?
for fun. =sigh=
i went because i'm too bloody loyal to my friends.
right, i think the other place we used to go was the gardening club in covent garden. but if my friend emails with a for sure reply, i'll pm you.
of footballer's wives style west-end wannabe VIP "exclusive" clubs with velvet ropes and meaningless guestlists will play perfectly good r'n'b, hip hip lite and pop all night long.
Try Umbaba, Chinawhite, Movida, Pangea, Kensignton Roof Gardens etc etc.
Be prepared for an onslaught of:
(a) genuine rich investment bankers and eurotrash / arab playboys out for a good time. Not many of these, but they will attempt to ply you with expensive alcohol and encourage you to dance on tables.
(b) wannabe footballers / popstars / gangsters with bad toni and guy mullets, distressed jeans and d'n'g shirts. They will attempt to ply you with slightly less expensive alcohol but there is a greater chance they've slipped some rohypnol into it first.
There's somewhere on Leicester Square that used to be part of "Home" if you remember that that is meant to be OK as far as those places go. It's on the 7th floor and has "sugar" or "secret" in it's name I think. Arrgh.
Oh and drinks in all of them will be steep...
by far the best thing about living somewhere like london is that i'm completely unaware of these sorts of hives of scum and villiany..
I was thinking of that little place on Ledbury Road in Notting Hill that was like a bunker.. with big roller doors on it (first time I went there in 99 I thought I was gonna be shot - last time was in 04 and it was full of posh kids)... it's the only time I've ever heard Mary J Blige and thought 'Man, this is coooool' although having said that was pretty off it at the time.
WHAT WAS IT CALLED??
But yeah - Kensington Roof Gardens was my second choice. Or any of those Eclipse bars (South Ken in particular).
that is what that place was called. Just remembered now.
Oceana/Oceania in Kingston. A bit far out, but I think it might be a chain...
there is one in leeds. i have never been in and i never want to.
