Control - again.
Its not much cop. One-paced, flat, static, weak production values, cypher like supporting characters and a startling abscence of insight into what made Ian Curtis tick, this movie has to rate as the non-event-disappointment of the year.
The lack of interplay between the characters is woeful at times and very typically of biopics about 'tortured' music artiste's like this one , it presents the experience of being in a band as a dreary, joyless affair. The only truly funny element in the film is the Rob Gretten character - it'd been great if the whole movie had been about him.
Yeah, the cinematography was good but thats about it really. Stick to the day-job Anton and I'll stick with 24 Hour Party People.
