I am going there for the weekend
Please tell me what to do
and pretend you are a viking.
it's an all night chinese-restaurant disco place. Maybe?
Kit Kat Crescent
though you questioning me has made me wodner.
I'm sure it is
and have a walk around - there's a good view.
and punch him in the chops.
all the way baby.
And my girlfriend's parents' house.
why is this one so good?
thats what WE are foing this weekend.
fif foo fay fo
you'll have to queue for hours with pensioners, but oh god it's worth it.
within the walls.
try some of the nice cocktails at the evil eye lounge (they make up for any company)
maybe you could just walk around in slow motion?
quite literally the best thing to ever pass between my lips.
they're fairly complete, and (save the bit near foss islands) pretty. The museum gardens/abbey are nice if the weather's good.
Ignore what's said above about Evil Eye. It's horrible.
but horrible is not one of them.
i liked the old evil eye but only went to the moved one a couple of times. i liked the old one.
it's basically my #1 york hate
i told devonmalcolm to get chips at the maltings and to go to the museum gardens for a picnic (weather permitting). are they ok?
the museum gardens are lovely - but apparantly you're not allowed wine there, or so we discovered, which i think is a bit stupid. wine + picnics pretty much go together....
it is all real ale so i dunno if it'd appeal to you.
the chips are great though.
like, at the foot of thew bridge? i think i have been in there actually, but don't recall it at all.
it is a proper old man pub.
the rail museum, jorvik centre, castle museum....
there's el piano - but that's a mostly vegan affair, and bobo lobo, which os really nice - both the cocktail bar and restaurant (ten trillion times better than evil eye lounge).
Best gig ever?
oh my gosh, i'm going there on saturday.
They're doing a massive tour... so they're probably playing near you :)
Stay around, come along with me! I don't want to go alone :(
the closest place to Teesside to be honest.
Oh man, i really, really want to go to this.
but I'm going to a christening on sunday.
I was impressed before I realised my mistake.
I've actually got no money anyway, really.
PS, are you at SUMO!!!! on friday?
So hopefully I will be able to go down after work.
Does this mean we may actually be there on the same night for once?
But YORK! I should save my money, not go out on friday and go to YORK on sunday.
I'm getting upset now.
is something silly good like £7.80, couldn't you do both and get the very last train back?
obviously. Pretty much every style of gothic architecture going is present in that building somewhere. It's also impressively huge.
Walking on the walls is good fun as well.
just look at the outside
the stained glass from the outside, which is one of the main reasons to go there :-(
i have been in a billion times, so i guess i'm underwhelmed by it all
I've only been to York once and basically spent the whole time stood in the south transept looking at the rose window in a kind of awed silence.
Also, I'm honestly not as sad as the above makes me sound.
