George Clooney's voicing Mr Fox, whilst Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman are also voicing other characters. Ace.
I'm a bit gay for Wes Anderson
Word on the street is that Guillermo del Torro is looking at doing a version of Roald Dahl's 'The Witches'. Ace
but with fur on the characters, real trees in miniature etc apparently.
Gonna be a few years before the animations done, but Kate Blanchett is involved too. I like her voice. mmm.
This is one of my favourite childhood books - it could be the first animation to tempt me in a long time.
thanks for asking
last night. it was good but a bit too safe for my liking. he needs a change of direction. he's in danger of becoming a parody of himself.
but i just think that he's a very talented young chap and capable of a lot more than just falling back on these stylistic and narrative quirks that we have come to expect from him all the time.
it's out at the end of nov.
i love jason schwartzman and bill murray is just a legend.
i will be very disapointed if this isnt good.
roald dahl is one of my heroes
He's giving a talk at the film festival? It's sold out but might be tickets available nearer the time. I'm going to see darjeeling ltd. So excited I almost hyperventilated.
even though it is the second worst Roald Dahl book.
I don't think I ever got through it.
to a young genius mechanic. Somewhat lacking in the usual twisted fantasy.
it's great. The bad ones are......
Danny The Champion of the World
James and The Giant Peach
for being irreversibly dull.
but its not as good as 'The Enormous Crocodile' or 'The Girraffe and the Pelly and Me'. They were my favourites
I also loved the twits, matilda, giraffe, pelly and me, the books of rhyme, the witches etc etc.
Hard not to love him when every British school library was well stocked with his books.
shame on me
is effing brilliant!
it might even be my favourite roald dahl book. certainly up there with the twits and charlie and the chocolate factory.
but this ^ MUST be wrong, cause Fantastic Mr Fox is wicked cool. And put me off varius bits of livestock innards for life.
I loved it as a kid. I can't say I've read a Dahl book in at least 10 years so it'd be interesting to know what has dated badly. I also liked his tales of the unexpected.
I wonder what his film is going to look like, his life action imagery is so striking.
incidentally my favourite is The Minpins for those interested
It's totally ace.
And is better than both Charlie books, The Magic Finger, Danny The Champion and probably a few others.
I also loved Esio Trot though.
I think Mathilda was my favourite.
