I'm just having a think about mine.
That sounds a bit risky.
the griffin in shoreditch
or The Avenue?
or Bar XL in Finchley?
Or the Queens Head next to Barnet Odeon?
then obvs all of those
i was (captain) in their football team! we used to get there at 11.30 on sunday morning! good times!
see also: All Sam Smith pubs...
is it back open now?
although i tend not spend a great deal of time in there...
Commercial Tavern, Shoreditch
Pineapple, Kentish Town
used to have good music but now plays MUZAK. Ruined by it's own popularity and high prices personally.
The Angel - Holborn
Liberties, also Camden.
and has loads of really shit paintings of Rochester castle in it
(only relevant to people who live in Medway)
but I quite like it.
Enterprise - Chalk Farm
the salisbury is great
any pub with a dartboard as well by default.
to the Bricklayers Arms, man I've got battered in there more times than I care to remember
Gypsy Moth in Greenwich - Pimms and Fruli on tap! Burnt down Cutty Sark!
Salisbury Hotel on Green Lanes
The Old Shades on Whitehall, for it's dingy, leather chair, tourist-free, civil servant drinking hole charm.
Yeah, I know that's three, JUST TRY AND STOP ME.
The World's End, Camden (this is just a nostalgia thing 'cos it was the first pub I ever went into in London)
London was amazing.
It has it's charms - it's not the best pub in the world but nowhere near as bad as some people claim.
its pretty bad, but there are worse pubs in Camden, for sure.
The Commercial Tavern is cool though.
I fucki-i-ing loved it in there when I came to visit London.
Now.. no love.
but it's still quite a convenient place if you're meeting a load of people in Camden and need somewhere everyone can find.
My friend played there last week. He said it was the strangest place he'd been.
As for the staff, did you see a super-camp little guy? Really thin black guy apparently.
Commercial Tavern in Shoreditch.
I want to try some of these others..
And probably The Old Coffee House. It's nothing special, but I've had some good times there.
definitely agree with that.
but i call it the coffeepot. it's a better name. i think i met some of you there...
nambucca on a sunday when i lived in holloway
swimmers round the corner, which is ace, and they are FUCK loads of students that live there innit. i.e. wuite a good place for a venue to be
in whitechapel especially when they open up the disco room but to be fair i've only ever been there twice because it's so bloody far away.
not sure i really have a favourite pub. usually end up in old blue or catch. it's good for bumping into people although both can be very hit and miss.
the Old Blue less so.
...closest to a proper 'east end pub' as you'll get nowadays...
The Crown in clerkenwell green.
Then maybe a sleazy cheap soho one.
My favourite used to be the prince albert in Notting Hill but that changed owners and now the food is horrendous. I quite like The Regent in Kensal Green but that's more down to the people I'm with at the time I'm there. There aren't enough jukeboxes in London pubs though :(
of a pub really
more the atmosphere
I hate gastro pubs anyway
on Fleet Street? Lots of crannies.
I also like:
The Falcon at Clapham Junction.
The Brittania in Richmond.
The Black Lion in Kilburn
The Golden Heart in Spitalfields
But my second favorite???? I can't decide.
I like smaller, rank pubs like the Windmill and the Bradley Spanish
5)Pineapple if it's anything like it was 3 years ago
1. The Blind Beggar by Whitechapel Chube cause i like cats and fireplaces
2. The Coffee Pot in Soho but i have no idea how to get there as i've never gone alone, but i like that machine to play games on!
3. Pineapple was very nice, very nice. weird staff though,.
4. The 10 Bells to whore it up.
The Torianno in Kentish Town?
Great little find that. Lovely pub.
Apart from that..
Big Red - Holloway
The Swimmer - Holloway
The Oxford - Kentish Town
Earl Of Camden - Camden
