I've just returned from holidaying there and I really liked it.
but I'd like to go one day.
There was a Morroccan boy in my year at school and he was the most detestable person I've ever met. The first to preach all the virtues of Islam, also the first I knew to father a child to a girl in my younger brother's year, get wrecked on drugs and be seen with a bottle of Jack Daniels in his hand - but I'm not going to let him put me off.
the shopkeepers can get a little tiresome especially if you show even the slightest interest in there wares.
I saw 9 bald ibis, one of THE rarest birds in the world.
there and had ALL my stuff stolen. My dad' s girlfriend is Morrocan. Nice people, yes.
and had been before 3 years ago.
The one this time was far more pleasant - the first one I got violently ill and had to take a mammoth 50 hour train trip from Marrakesh back to London
I LOVED the tree-climbing goats.
I didn't actually try my Oyster card so I'm not sure.
The only goats I saw were the BBQ-ed heads on sticks that the grizzled gent beside me was tucking into while I was nibbling my vege couscous
The tree-climbing goats are found in the south-west where the argane tree is...
I saw several barbary falcons (although some folk believe they're actually conspecific with the peregrine. P'ah!)
You've been to Cockfosters
I have a passion for goats
i spent 3 days smoking kif and trekking with a goat herder around the Rif mountains up North. It was amazing
Casablanca was a big, dirty sea port and Marrakesh was full of thieves.
I've heard bad things about Casablanca, but why would you go to a country like Morrocco and stay in the industrial centre? Well, maybe on business, but...
If you read the foreign offic advice it'll scare you anyway - there was a suicide bombing there not long ago. We stayed in Agadir, which is a soulless resort on the south-west coast (taking advantage of last-minute action) but hireed a car to visit some amazing
rural towns and villages.
I saw an Eleanora's flacon in Essouira.
but they're mostly found in the southwest around the Sous valley where the Argan tree is.
with all your 'goat knowledge' but I've got some news for you my friend, you don't know as much as you think you do.
I have spent time amoungst the Goat herds and learnt their ways. I understand the culture and appreciate the dynamic amoungst the species. How dare you try and pigeon hole them to a tiny geographical niche. They hold complete autonomy over their existence and as such can be found all over Morocco and, in fact all over the worrrld.
to all things hircine.
I agree that attempting to pigeon-hole the species is foolhardy, goat-holing is far more advisable although i believe you can be arrested for such activities.
