when Robson had loads of money to spend. They entertained and got to 2 finals.Pity they got relegated.
I do like Martin Jol but if you are given so much money you are expected to be under pressure.
are my new favourite team ever. I hope they win the title by 50 points. Adebayor's goal was my highlight of the weekend.
(Apart from Norwich beating scummy Palace)
The only team playing football. Like the Norwich of the Premiership
That was a seriously slick goal.
at fault for Arsenal's first, beaten from 30 yards again...
Spurs are now like they were under Ardiles
should have been closed down, but the number of times Robbo is beaten from outside the box is absolutely frightening.
He certainly is the weak link.
that arent James?
they played the mainstage at V, third from top so were above The Fratellis. (Can I clearly point out here that I didn't go to V?)
England number one should be either Carson or Green. Would also be good if Schmeichal took English nationality.
schmeichel comically bad yesterday?
has kept a ridiculous number of clean sheets so far entirely on the basis of the men in front of him. He's not that good a keeper.
Norwich days he still never looks quite sure
made a save and distributed the ball without panic in the england game.
aren't Spurs in the same position with the same number of points as they were this year? I still reckon they'll turn it round and get top 6 at least.
Top 4's gonna be tricky simply 'cos the Arsenal and Liverpool seem much stronger than last year but it's way to early to think Spurs are gonna struggle.
if the board sack Jol.
Why oh why do I even allow myself to get excited about a new season...
Tottenham won't challenge the top 4 until they have a solid back 5. They're far too porous defensively.
But didn't they have their first 3 preference for left back, two main centre-backs and preferred back-up centre back all injured for the first few matches?
It's not surprising their defence has struggled.
able to field internationals though. Even when they had everyone fit last season they conceded far too many goals. Liverpool, Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal are all based around very solid defences. Even if they have injuries, they're difficult to score against.
Anthony Gardner just isn't a top four defender and I'm not convinced Roche is either. King's permanently crocked. I still think (although he obviously struggles with crosses) Robinson's a good keeper having a bad time rather than a bad keeper.
has lasted for over a season though.
Garnder and Rocha are not good enough.
Plus points - Gareth Bale <3.
Certainly not chelsea, they conceded far too much last season. Arsenal maybe more solid, but still let a fair few in.
Man Utd had by far and away the best defence last season, which is mainly why they took the title.
conceded the least goals last season. 24. Man United and Liverpool conceded 27 each, Arsenal 35 and Spurs 54.
£16 million pounds worth of talent...
Mourinho as well as Kalou's goal was chalked off. If only Howard Webb hadn't bottled giving a penalty for the challenge on Pedersen.
Terry really is an odious little cretin. I'm still amazed MOTD completely missed the point re the Chelsea 'goal' though; they were concentrating on whether Belletti was offside (which obviously he wasn't) whereas the linesman incorrectly flagged for Kalou because he was beyond the last defender, despite being behind Belletti and the ball.
I'm not sure what planet Mark Hughes was watching that from. Clearly onside, but brilliant all the same. I assume next time Drogba's a yard offside before scoring Mourinho will be ringing the opposition manager with an apology.
ahem. That is all
Not only did I predict this, but I'm 100th in the fantasy league, despite putting EFFORT into it.
