I have been practically ordered to watch at least one of his fillums. Any thoughts?
i challenge you to start with atame.
Try "All About My Mother" as a start.
start with all about my mother and work from there
is such a dull, obvious choice. go for his earlier work like tie me up! tie me down!, women on the verge... or live flesh.
are what I'd go for.
Pepi Luci Bom, Tie Me Up Tie Down,
cos everyone likes it? it's better than his earlier stuff, and i love his earlier stuff.
i prefer his earlier stuff.
it's still a great film.
But his later ones are the best. Just more depth, though the sex comedies are fun
what have i done to deserve this is probably (arguably) his film with the most depth, whereas, idve thought, volver was the most shallow...
it's so under-rated. i think it might be my favourite of his. <3 javier bardem in it.
isn't talked about that much, but it is very good.
One of the best 'film-within-a-film' bits...
not talk to her
didn't realise there were so many (two) live flesh fans.
what does everyone think of bad education? i was expecting great things especially with gael in it but i thought the ending was crap.
The ending is cack though.
I really liked Volver, which I should get on DVD.
thinking it didn't make an awful lot of sense.
volver was good. i liked penelope in it.
Also, try Bad Education.
because I like the title.
Talk to her.
Tie me up, tie me down...
Just watch them.
He's wonderful. A true story teller...
And that one he did with Penelope last year.. it's name escapes me but I loved that film.. Ms Cruz is rather le wonderful in it too.
I really couldn't stand All About My Mother. I thought it was excrutiatingly boring and couldn't get into the characters at all. I just couldn't connect with it at all. It was pretty though.
Talk to her and bad education are so much better.
Talk To Her is BRILLIANT.
I also adore Bad Education. So beautifully shot...
but with All About My Mother it was just too much style over substance and seemed a bit Almodovar by numbers. It was kind of like Hollyoaks but Spanish and better shot.
