What the hell is wrong with you??
what the hell is wrong with you??
then five spins to the right, forward roll, double back flip and cartwheel keep going for 15 minutes and you could have just scored a touchdown in the nfl.
4 hours for 60 minutes action. bollocks.
What the hell is wrong with you?
you get money for it here
We get through a lot.
"makin' movies, writin' songs an' fightin' round the world!"
he'll just beat you up
loads when people didn't recycle, especially when I was in halls and we had recycling facilities in our car park yet none of my flatmates could be arsed. But now I just stick to doing my bit and hope that others will eventually do the same.
According to the United States EPA, only 1% of plastic bags were recycled in 2000. When one ton of plastic bags is reused or recycled, the energy equivalent of 11 barrels of oil is saved.
According to the UK government department for environment (DEFRA), there are several problems with plastic recycling, and in particular plastic bags:
the high volume to weight ratio of plastic means that the collection and transport of this waste is difficult and expensive
there are often high levels of contamination in plastic making the recyclate less usable, especially where food products are involved
there is a very wide range of plastics in use and segregation is difficult
the market for using recycled plastic is underdeveloped.
when in fact they could have a very good reason. Some plastic bags you can reuse, but the ones you get for free last about 5 seconds so they arent better than the paper ones. Paper is much more easily recycled. FACT.
reuse plastic bags hundreads of times as long as you dont overload them
they disintegrate pretty quick, plastic is infinite
and you are right for the first line but you have overlooked the negative impact on the envoironment the manufacture of plastic bags has.
are difficult to recycle. it can be done, but they can't be turned into much that's useful so the market for them is pretty poor..
'I am not a plastic bag' bags, then carefully placed them inside a plastic carrier bag in order to take them home.
You stupid, vacuous, inane, bovine, gullible, brand prone, no style harpies.
i really REALLY hate the way that staff in tesco metros / sainsburys locals automatically put what you buy into a new carrier bag, especially as i always have a bag with me and rarely buy more than one or two items.
tescos annoy me more for this as their stores are always full of "REUSE YOUR CARRIER BAGS!" signs..
I usually have a bag on me and use that.
exactly. if i am buying too much to go into my regular bag, i'll bring a carrier bag along.
it really fucks me off if i'm buying some breakfast on the way to work. it's like, it's 8:45 in the morning and i'm buying two pain au chocolat. how long do you think they're going to last? stop trying to give me a carrier bag.
the sooner they tax the fucking things the better imho.
that annoys me too
i forget to take a bad with me about 75% of the times i go to the supermarket though. i get annoyed at myself, but it's better than nothing i suppose.
sainsburys piss me off as well, as their stores are always full of "BUY A REUSEABLE BAG AND HELP THE ENVIRONMENT!" signs. while the reusable bags they do are good and will last longer than a carrier bag, i really resent them trying to turn the issue into a way for them to sell more stuff.
WHO DOESN'T RECYCLE?
And it means your bin doesn't get full so often... bonus.
recycle at home, because the binmen don't post me any of the special bags. I've phoned Southwark Council about this and am a bit sick of trying to pursue it. I do have four separate bins for different sorts of recycling at work though (not my choice though).
I have been doing pro bono work on a GLA sustainability policy project for the last few months, so I'm ultimately better than any zealous recycler. I think I documented my cynicism towards recycling last week, so I'm not going to repeat myself.
and what went in the recycling bin. So I just put it all in the normal bin.
to find out?
But those plasticy bits of paper that flyers and stuff come on. Are they plastic? Are they paper? ARGH! And also, the cleaners in my room used to put the normal bin in the recycling bin. And also, I hate the world.
the mantra of the eco-fascist
Until, like europe, we are given incentives for recycling other than "a clear conscience" then people will not recycle. The only way it works in britain is to TAX!!!!!!
Penalties, not incentives, the british way
People will be nicking other people's recycling! It'll never work!
but I'm not completely convinced it's worth it. It may even be quite bad for the environment in some cases. I still err on the side of recycling, however, until I have made up my mind.
council doesn't appear to have any recycling collection, which is pretty poor. I still do paper & bottles but I suspect recycling is a waste of time.
but do it anyway because it will make you feel better.
they have a legal requirement to do so..
collect from my front door?
to provide you with a service.
but i assume you live in a house? you usually will get a doorstep service, it's only really large estates that don't.
if they don't offer a doorstep service, they're going to get royally fucked over because they'll never meet their targets.
but nothing else. As I don't drive it's difficult for me to get stuff to the recycling centres. (Y) nice one council!
they have recycling centres scattered around the borough but not, to my knowledge, near me.
your local councils website.
but they're not a particularly efficient way of doing it, you don't really get much waste in them compared to doorstep collections.
how obvious it is that you work for a local authority, guntrip....
is that i'm not actually required to know much about recycling, i've just somehow absorbed all this information that i don't care about.
Can you recite the phone book?
i don't recycle!
this is due to the weird way in which our bins are collected, and the council not giving us the appropriate bags. also the lack of close recycling bins.
