was this story completely inevitable?
does anyone really care?
Yes, you should care a little. He's just starting to find some form again.
i can see my self having to resort to my germanic heritage come summer 08, assuming this week goes wrong anyway.
Hmmm, I don't think you should consider switching to the dreaded rivals though - that kind of act could get you in a lot of trouble!
it would make my grandma ever so happy though.
i'm a quarter welsh too but i doubt they'll be there.
go for Germany then!
Should be very interesting to see how we cope with all these injuries - if we don't qualify, it'll probably yet another manager drsfted in - gets a bit boring!
And he is a horrible bastard.
Yeah Lampards played well a few times in the past. Has scored and set up some crucial goals, if only he could carry over his Chelsea form.
At how glad I am that Lampard is injured. It seems that Lampard being unavailable is the only way that Gerrard will get a chance to play in centre mid without having to cover for Lampard's complete lack of defending...
But I feel evil for being glad that Lampard is injured. Oh, the conflicting thoughts.
On Heskey, I so hope he doesn't play - he'll just encourage the long ball game which is so mightily ineffective in international football. Crouch is really unlucky that as soon as he is on the pitch, all the defenders seem to think 'Oh look, a tall fella - let's play 50 yard passes and completely by-pass our midfield!'.
Excuse me while I recover from my laughing fit :D
If Crouch wasn't suspended than he probably wouldn't have been called up. Heskey just gives them the option to play direct and someone to play long balls upto. Truth is Englands forward line isn't exactly great when everyone is available, Rooney hasn't really played well at internation level for a couple of years, Crouch is Liverpool's 4th choice striker, Defoe is also not getting regular club football, Johnson hasn't scored yet this season and Owens still returning to fitness, so ...
this is the week that the number of injuries overcomes our dogged averageness, we draw against Israel and lose to Russia, McClaren retires in disgrace and we can start concentrate on crashing out of 2010 in the quarter-finals to Turkey.
are just what England needs right now. Do you really want to see Gerrard and Lampard in the centre with Becks flanking and Rooney up front with Rooney? The same fucking team that gets picked every time and are completely ineffective and useless EVERY FUCKING TIME? Do you really want to see Steve making a sole 80th minute substitution and putting Dyer on? I for one would rather see a selection of less used players who have a chance of being good rather than a selection of big names who had a chance of being great but have fucked up every opportunity since. And still get picked every time
The jaded England stars have been forced to make way...
Aston Villa's PA is playing Arcade Fire's Wake Up as the teams come out of the tunnel?
