BBC radio DJ Andy Kershaw is in jail after being charged with breaching a restraining order, police have said.
The presenter was arrested on Wednesday near the home of his former partner Juliette Banner.
Police detained the Radio 3 host after he allegedly tried to call on her in Peel, on the Isle of Man.
Ms Banner had won a restraining order on August 1 banning the 48-year-old from visiting her home.
The couple, who have two children, are separated.
Kershaw, who used to present on Radio 1, appeared before a court in Douglas on Thursday and was remanded in custody to appear again on Tuesday.
The star, who is originally from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, now lives on the Isle of Man.
He has been with Radio 3 since April 2001 and presents a world music show on Monday evenings but this is currently on a summer break.
An Isle of Man Constabulary spokeswoman said: "Andrew Kershaw appeared before the Deputy High Bailiff at a court in Douglas on August 30.
"Mr Kershaw was remanded in custody until 10am on Tuesday September 4 when he will next appear before the Deputy High Bailiff."
A BBC spokeswoman said: "Obviously this is a personal matter for Andy and not something on which we would comment."
