I think someone did that to me this week. Certainly I don't know that I know them.
They were gig promoters so I suspect they're motivation was to invite me to stuff.

People can find me on these things if they want to, and I do like getting adds but it's relatively rare I'll actually "chase" friends.

I think she just wants to have me send her money and/or spam my email acct. In this case, common sense won out over my libido... surprisingly enough.
from perfectly normal fellows who I know absolutely nothing about. I have been denying them, because, what's the point of adding them? We'll never speak, and their information will clog up my bulletin board or whatever... I was just curious as to what the motivation might be? As I never do this.

I have last.fm and I add lots of DiSers, some of whom I don't reall speak to/know. I'm not entirely sure why I do it.
In that if you're adding someone whom you either do or could potentially meet somewhere, or even talk to online, there's some logic to it.
i get lots of adds from people from uruguay and isle de france. i dont know why but i delete them if they dont talk to me. i think some people just do it to look popular
