Spanish media are reporting that he's passed away :( RIP
That's really shocking. RIP
This is awful, awful news :(
I don't know if it's what happned here but people can be born with these heart conditions that are slowly killing them with no visible signs until they suddenly suddenly collapse and die as above.
I was born with something of this nature myself and it was only by pure fluke anyone spotted it to operate on.
had been tested lot of times without anyone noticing.
Then just before signing to the Lakers he was diagnosed and operated.
That cold have not been seen.
He could have died on a basketball court.
or as in my case happen to spot something amiss whilst investigating something else, then it's highly unlikely anyone'll look and find the right thing.
It's things that are too rare to be worth testing everyone for but obviously devastating when tehy strike.
In a healthy young sportsman it's pretty unlikely anyone would ever hace had reason to even think to check for a heart conditon.
is that according to Sid Lowe of the Guardian he had collapsed twice before. Once in a friendly and once in training. When he walked off he said something like "Not this damn dizziness again".
Really awful news.
But even then dizziness/collapsing can have so many causes I suspect it's very easy for no-one to check the heart or at least check for the right thing.
so so sad. I remember feeling utterly numb when Foe died, I feel the same now.
so I have to admit both Foe and Ray Jones affected me more immeediately 'cos of the recognition. But, as you say, it's a truly shocking piece of news and incredibly sad.
Puerta, whose girlfriend is pregnant, had been a member of the Sevilla first team for three seasons and spent 14 years in total with the club he joined as a boy
Been a pretty tragic weekend for football with Ray Jones too. Puerta's baby is due next month, fucking tragic :-(
Also as a QPR fan, Jones is a sad, sad loss. Without hyperbole, he was going on to great things.
I was at a party on Sunday night and got so angry when someone said the QPR game should've gone on and they used Jones' death to get out of playing >:(
a qpr fan i know used to say how amazing he was...
