he has acted memorably in wonderful comedies that people adore, he has written wonderful books that people gaffaw at on trains, and he has hosted wonderful television programmes that chear knowledge from the ignorant, he's just clever; right?

Jeeves and Wooster.
In fact, V for Vendetta is the first thing I can really say I know of him.... and anyway DiSers can't all agree on anything, not the Pixies being great... hell half of you don't even vote for England in the World Cup... but Stephen Fry. Everyone (except denise-richards ha!) loves him.
How shall I best introduce myself to his wonderous self, other than that kiddie clip which I'm about to click on?
for his comedic acting - blackadder goes forth
for his wit and intellect - QI : http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HESOqZlKRzc
I quite liked that one. On the Qi thing, he seemed quite personable, but a game show host all the same.
by far the worst thing he's ever done.
but the first joke about the pope here makes me proper LOL.

I'm so dumb... here I thought Hugh Laurie was just American Dr. House. Still, American actors doing Brit accents has to be more fun.
Oh yeah, what's the dude's name that plays Blackadder again? Looks like Mr Bean? Maybe it is Mr Bean? ...So what are both those cats names?
yes, he is Bean too.
He is a very sympathetic, articulate man. He was in a documentary highlighting bi-polar disorder, which shed some light on a subject that few understand.
this well-spoken, articulate man is a man who is very 'real'.I feel he often leaves himself open to this kind of innocent vulnerability.
