In terms of episodes that everyone's seen,

wrightylew [Edit] [Delete] 26 replies 16:41, 25 August '07

as in ones made up until about 2001... finest, most memorable Simpsons moment?

I think its pretty much sealed with:

Crowd: "Booooo!"
Burns: "Are they booing me, Smithers?"
Smithers: "No Sir, they're saying... Boo-urns!"

Burns: "Are you all saying 'Boo!' or 'Boo-urns!'?"
Crowd: "BOOOOOO!"
Moleman: "I was saying Boo-urns."

Probably one of the finest things I've witnessed on my television.

  • I'm Mr. Burns

I believe you have a letter for me.

    What's your first name?

    I don't know.

    • I'll crush you like a paper cup!

*fails to dramatically crush paper cup*

      also:

That one where ralph does something with an old computer. I cant even remember what it is, but it was funny as hell

      also:

I'm Idaho!(or whatever state it was)

Computer: "Fill in the missing letters 'C_T'."
Ralph: [inputs 'A' to spell CAT] "I'm learnding!"

        Or something like that.

        There's just too many moments...

        "Your name, sir?"
        "Rock Strongo."
        "You're REAL name, sir?"
        "Uh, Lance Uppercut."
"Thank you Mr Uppercut. Enjoy your stay."

...and the movie was a pleasant surprise too - felt more like a long episode than a movie - but a long vintage episode. Had some great moments.

        Also: I just found this = http://www.geographypages.co.uk/Simpsons%20Handout.ppt

Is this how they're actually teaching children in this country?!

        Stealthy @Stealthy | 25 Aug '07, 18:05 | X
        • That is EXACTLY

how pretty much all of my History, Geography, PSHE and everything else lessons were. Some fucking mongloid Powerpoint written by some idioitc dick, downloaded by teachers too lazy to do their own work.

            I am horrified.

What happened to the good, old fashioned way they teach children? Mindlessly copying out of textbooks.

  • Um

The bit where Sideshow Bob steps on nine rakes made me cry with laughter first time I saw it. That's probably still my favourite bit.

Or any scene involving Lionel Hutz.

    • Apparently Lionel Hutz

    "that's not a knife, that's a spoon"

Mr. Burns: what are you doing this weekend? Something gay, I expect?

    Smithers: What!?

Mr. Burns: You know, light and fancy free! Mothers, lock up your daughters! Smithers is on the town!

    TheWildSon | 25 Aug '07, 18:36 | X
    • oh, wait:

Look Smithers, a bird has become petrified and lost its sense of direction.

Again, Mr. Burns... greatest character ever

Reverend Lovejoy splashing petrol on his church whilst muttering "Never thought I'd have to do this again" makes me laugh hysterically every time.
