Even if you don't like Camden I would hope that the majority of people would be on the same side with this.
signed that last week and put a thing about it on my my my my myspace. no one has said anything about it though
This is the reason why the man is winning.
No war but class war.
but this is a matter that falls under local council jurisdiction, in this case LB Camden.
are probably better contacts for your objections.
PM him, get to the source of the evil!!
i wish i worked in planning. i'd have bulldozed the entire area now by now if i did ;P
whatever, I didn't make the petition but it can't hurt to have people bringing attention to it.
Still being allowed to earn your crust in an area you loathe so much I assume? :p
but i don't think those petitions are awfully effective as the local authority doesn't have to pay any attention to them, whereas a complaint email to them directly has to be responded to and recorded in their stats and stuff.
and yep, i am. a crazy drunk has started waving at me every time he walks past my window. isn't that nice?
us Camdeners are amongst the most friendly you can hope to meet! I miss the Camden characters. Would much rather a crazy drunk than some cunt in a suit walking past my window.
a petition to number 10 isn't the best method of doing it but i don't think there are petition pages for local authorities.
i disagree with guntrip. i'm sick of the clone high street. london is big enough to hold a market like camden and dozens of shoping centres flogging discount books and fcuk clothes.
he's just saying what he thinks are the best forums for protest. There's nothing to disgaree with!
say he would bulldoze it but clearly that was irony...just maybe not the most effectively executed irony!
with multiple social problems that will never be solved as long as indie kids think that povety = authenticity and buying drugs there is 'ok', and while local government considers 'regeneration' to mean 'allowing developers to build flats aimed soley at city workers to make a killing' while ignoring the need for new, decent-quality social housing and allowing their estates to further crumble.
i appreciate the need for alternative, interesting areas and i hate the commodification of the high street to a level where they look the same up and down the country, i just think there are better ways to do this than the example camden town provides.
businesses in the area uses it's "alternative" status to basically rip people off.
there's little to recommend camden market. There's a few traders who's wares are genuinely exciting, but many more who sell shit at inflated prices on some authenticity/alternative/whatnot credibility.
The planning meeting was back in October.
i work in Camden and would be happier if that enormous tat-pile was cleaned up a bit. "Flea infested duffle coats, only £50" "get 'em while they're itchy"
plus it might drive out some of the irritating goth kids.
it won't be 'clone high street' as there is a clause in the legal agreement which prevents any retail occupiers who have more than 10 outlets nationally from trading in the new building...
maybe I'm wrong
A CUNNING RUSE.
worry, sure you'll have some more Prets and Stradas in there soon enough. Cunt.
worry, sure you'll have some genuine cause to release your aggression soon enough. Silly Billy
will have some genuine cause in a second if you don't pipe down and clear off to wherever it is you're from.
you're going to come and find me, and then punch me, for posting my opinion on a public website.
can't glean the trace of tongue in cheek in my threatening words there then you have more problems than is at fist apparent!
thanks for highlighting my ever growing list of problems.
p.s. I'm not wearing a suit, honest
though I'm not a tramp, I guess this makes me only a half good person
that's a nice term isn't it. What other social problems were you exposed to for the first time when you moved to the big city then?
two prets in camden town.
know but you know what I was getting at!)
I had a crayfish and rocket sandwich.
are you calling me a c*** for providing some factual information or is just general venting?
was calling Jezcc a cunt! Not you.
ill let you carry on with your little tiff then!
and really don't get what the fuss is about. Obviously it's bad that peopl ewill lose their jobs, but all th e"vintage" shops just sell M&S dresses from the 80s for £40, it's ridiculous, and really smelly.
