Good weekend for Lincoln, so I'm happy. I guess Liverpool fans will be less so.
Happy with this weekend's results?
wednesday lost and leeds won.
COME ON NAAAARWICH
Though Southampton will be disappointed, Jamie Cureton is now in my Top 10 people ever
if Chelsea had lost, as they should have. But there's the danger Chelsea could stroll to the title - not cool.
has the entire Man City back 4 plus Schmeichel!
i was going to pick him as a replacement for niemi too :(
The season starts in approximately three weeks.
Good work from Lincoln though, not so much from Gresley.
My favourite part of the footballing weekend was my initial reaction to Michael Essien's second yellow card, when it looked like he ran away and deliberately replaced himself with Shaun Wright-Phillips. Even if he didn't do that, I'm still giggling.
A 6-0 win to Kettering at home to Vauxhall will satisfy any man. Especially when it involves their keeper walking off after the 5th because he's 'had enough'. Bizarre.
I'm sure it didn't say anything about it in the NLP. Stupid NLP.
St Albans p3 w0 d1 l2
What a fall from grace from the conference. Stupid Ritchie Hanlon
the same keeper who conceded 6 against Hyde on Monday. After conceding 4 against us he signalled to the bench he had had enough and wanted to come off but they ignored him. It then looked suspiciously like he let the 5th goal in before throwing his gloves in the net shouting at the our fans then walking off. One of his defenders tried to stop him but he punched him and ran down the tunnel before being hastily substituted. Got to love this level of football.
They came down on a team bus aswell, would have been interesting on the way back up I reckon. Also he was players player of the season last year for them, I think he's going to struggle to retain that title.
some people are fucking retards arent they?
he's 'fearing for his job' as some Spurs delegation (including Daniel Levy and the secretary dude) had a meeting with Juande Ramos earlier last week.
Coral have stopped taking bets on him being sacked.
is terrible news. Probably bullshit. But if he's sacked I'm going to find and burn Daniel Levy.
only a win against Derby though, who were truly awful. If they lose against Man Utd next week it will all start up again.
You Spuds fans really are.
You've finished in the Top 6 two years running under Jol. You are never going to better that anyway as you are not in the same league financially as the big four.
You should accept that you have achieved all you're ever likely to and get on with it.
Oh, and good to see JJ is still a Nottingham lad at heart. Awesome goal against the Sheepshagging scum on Saturday.
i was being sarcastic in order to highlight my contempt with the board.
The fans booed the team after the everton game cause they were crap. No one would dream of calling for Jol's head. On Saturday they chanted his name from begining to end. We don't want rid of him.
I'm annoyed that it seems the board have already decided to get rid, after two games, which were lost by a team riddled with injuries, after allowing the amn to spend so much in summer. Madness.
That bookies have stopped taking bets of Jol's sacking is unbelievable.
you deserve to languish in mid-table obscurity.
apart from Lehmann's slip up. I particularly enjoyed:
Torres' goal (only 7 more for the season)
Micah Richards performance
Fergies reaction to Tevez's late chance.
at fergie's disbelief
'Shit! I'm twenty yards out of position! Ho hum, it's last-ditch tackle time'
no stopping now, the freck and stallard will now become unstoppable.
this Dodds character as well. I just fear for the defence.
Mansfield though to be fair.
on them keeping a clean sheet against your barn-door missing carthorses at the moment ;)
And a manager
And a chairman...
2 appaling results it was good to get a good result and the stallard came up with the goods,
i also learnt this week that my girlfriend works with mark stallards girlfriend!
notts county are the best team in nottingham tho....
you've still got a hangover from yesterday!
Don't know if you saw it, but he just powered through about 4 (albeit weedy and not very good) defenders.
but was taking a swig of tea at the same time, so missed most of the one-second long highlights. Nice work, ITV. Damn it. I saw Stallard's finish though. Sweet.
to the official website with all its highlights for the whole year. Got it last year for when I wasn't in the UK, and they automatically renewed it for this season. Just been watching Stallard's goal again - as you say, sweet. Rooney would have been proud.
is a wanker, is a wanker, is a wanker.
Seriously one of the worst people in the world. I hate him so much, I hate more how Arsenal let him get to them in the second half. For all Arsene's talk on not being bullied this season, Blackburn kicked us off the park yesterday.
Hitler >>>> Savage
But Arsenal were just as bad as Blackburn in that game. Wenger's whole tirade afterwards was ridiculous.
it's gonna be one of the most physical games we have all season and we've come out with a point....
were brought down to their level. In the end Flamini was probably lucky not to get a red and van persie made a horrible tackle at one point, but only in frustration that he was beng kicked and all game.
I dont know about Wenger, I'd be frustrated if I was him that his team had been kicked all through the game and I think he's justified in mentioning it, but I can understand why people laugh at him for it as it happens every time we play them. Just annoying our players let it get to them.
Seriously Savage just can't play football, the way he complains at the referee I dont think he realises he fouls people. He can't pass or shoot or tackle, he only winds people up.
But it could've been worse.
This is amazing. There are now three of us. Great weekend to be a neatral watching the Prem, and obvs, the Lincoln result delighted me no end. Especially as I had a tenner on us. Hip hip!
you, bamos and carpet.
fukit... Kevin Blackwell's ageing toothless spineless flatpack 442 rentateam lost.....
Paul Furlong.... LOLZ
Bring back Newell.
For his 'penalty' award for Chelsea against Liverpool. Justice is served.
and not demoted to the football league, like has happened before. It pisses me off a bit when people say "oh, he's shit, he can't ref - whack him on a league one game", as if it's ok to have incompetent tools reffing those games.
but it seems that his chief offence has been to break the cardinal rule of football "Thou shalt not give a decision against Liverpool".
If refs were demoted purely for being inconsistent and getting things wrong, there would be none of them left.
it was for the card incident
I think this article is saying that he was dropped because of the penalty thing, but that he also made a mistake (an '
admin error') with appearing to book Essien after he'd booked Terry.
to get the first 3 points of the campaign.
Fuck you, Fulham.
9, count 'em 9, years at Liverpool without playing one single game.
took it really well.
From what I heard when listening on the radio, it sounded a lot better than the first two games, but they still have a lot of work to do.
usually i'd be well chuffed with 1-1 at blackburn, but not on those terms. also, for a team full of abject thugs, Blackburn don't half dive and whinge a lot.
Micah Richards is a monster. He's only 19! Give him a few years experience and he'll be the most dominant centre-back in the world.
and he just shrugs after everything.
in fact, there's only a handful of players with questionable tactics.
and, you now, santa cruz...
isn't a reflection of him at all. He was nearly always on a late sub, and never had a flow of games due to that and various injuries. He was attacked by Bayern fans because he seemed like a nice scapegoat for the fact they were massively underperforming.
He's had three performances for Blackburn - one excellent, one very good, one good.
And he has the most heart-melting smile ever.
one excellent, two very good.
he was horribly, horribly lazy for Bayern and seemed to just be there to pick up a wage slip. he always seems to try for Paraguay.
He's pretty much their most important player - he has to perform - he's crucial to them succeeding.
I can't imagine it's very easy to make an impact when you're on for 10 minutes with everyone hating you.
Anyway, Bayern's history now.
and never did anything.
i know you're going to defend him to the death, but when the media ask the manager why he started with him 2 games in a row as they couldn't believe just how bad he was (as happened last year) i don't think you have much room to manoeuver in.
He's been better than anyone in the opening games for Blackburn. Seeing as Blackburn are a decent enough side, it suggests he's doing pretty well. He's in a new team, a new league, and he appears to be taking to it well.
He did nothing against Arsenal apart from head one against the post. To be fair the service was pretty poor but he didn't look like he could cut it against a top defence. He might look ok against boro's back four or Mypa's but I reckon he has found his level at Blackburn.
at all. He was good throughout the game...
I was impressed with defence of clichy, gallas, kolo and sagna. Less impressed with Senderos, I can't understand how hes so bad at the basics of passing and control. There's a clip of Arsenal doing crossbar challenge for French TV and Senderos and Song's shots are terrible.
they're the most maligned of the squad. i don't mind big phil when he doesn't have to kick the ball, but he's nightmarish when he has that sort of responsibility. better than Cygan, mind. still, i want Djourou back.
Sagna's been brilliant. We've needed to really replace Lauren and he's already done that.
I'd back him to win a header or make a decent tackle and his positioning is ok. But he has no pace and every time he is on the ball he looks like he's panicking. The first thing he did when he came on for gallas was lose his man and Kolo had to save him with a great tackle. You could see Kolo having a go at him, He must hate having to partner him instead of Gallas. I reckon if Eboue is back then Sagna will play centre back instead of big Phil starting there while Gallas is out.
it's a contact sport, yeah, but a foul is a fucking foul. every time we play blackburn they use tactical fouling/rotational fouling to break up the play, but referees always seem to neglect to bring out the cards for persistent fouls.
why? they've got no reason not to.
it's retaliation. it can't fail to get to the players when they aren't being protected by the referee. they aren't just going to stand there and take it. the fact that it happens EVERY time we play Blackburn doesn't help, and yet it took until the 84th minute for them to finally have someone sent off. Last time we played them up there the ref didn't waste any time sending Gilberto off though...
it's a absolute fallacy that Arsenal are a bunch of wimps that can't stand up for themselves, but there's only so much you can do. Look at last year at Sheffield United: Chris Morgan punched Van Persie in the kidney, it wasn't seen by the ref or the linesman and he subsequently got banned for 3 games, but it was Van Persie that was vilified in the press for his lunge at him a minute later. There was barely any press coverage of what Morgan did to him.
like the Repka/Fabregas incident. Fabregas got booked for that anyway. We can't have all our players picking up suspensions.
Arsenal were hardly lacking those kinds of crunching challenges in the second half, were they? They always get a bit violent in the face of provocation, but the problem is that they then get booked and the other side goes unpunished. It's not the media's position to point that out, and they never do.
and got players booked for it! Flamini and Van Persie could easily have been sent off.
that doesn't prevent the game turning into a brutal tit-for-tat. it's down to the referee to calm the game down before it gets to that.
we get a red card Wenger always gets criticised for his teams having a lack of discipline. We were always labled as being the dirtiest team in the country which was just not true, however it not only seems to be ok for other teams to kick us now, but actively encouraged. Last night on MOTD2 I wanted to hit Hansen and Peacock for their stupid comments.
all for teams playing to their strengths and admit that if Blackburn tried to play football against us they would get beaten pretty heavily so I understand why they have to foul so much. However yesterday was different to how i've seen Blackburn before, they was a lot more over the top tackles, a lot more whinging to the referee. In the end Arsenal got frustrated and made stupid tackles and got silly bookings.
the savage incident but I totally agree about Arsenal whinging! Don't they whinge loads when they play Bolton too? And when one of their players makes an outrageous dive or a horrific tackle, Arsene Wenger never seems to have seen it. A shame really.
quest to sign players patently not cut out for the Premier League. Today: Eddie Lewis.
Good work Billy Davies!
early for their imminent return to the Nationwide League.
Spanish story is ace. Excellent cheating.
Yesterdays penalty was an absolute joke, did any Chelsea players even appeal? That could be very costly to Liverpool, losing two points Chelsea gaining a point has lost Liverpool 3 points in what should hopefully be a very tight race for the title... Also could have an effect on morale, confidence in the team.
Yeah I'm really really bitter :@
But also, after watching MOTD2
Arsenal v Blackburn - What a load of cunts. Easily my most hated teams in the premiership. Whoever that player was celebrating around Lehmann after he made that mistake is a complete twat.
Voronin should of been on the bench at least. I'd like to see him partner Torres for a match. I just can't see Kuyt ever scoring, yeah he works hard it's just I can't see him ever scoring again. Crouch hasd looked terrible in pre-season and when he's played this season, I think Voronin should be given a chance, he looks like he could be prolific (even if his record suggests not) he also seems to work as hard as Kuyt. Benayoun should have been on the bench too. I imagine he could come off and cause defences problems. And Mascherano > Alonso... He's looked a bit sloppy recently.
Although I think Kuyt is a brilliant player too, and Torres could prove to be an excellent player.
I think they've got three incredible strikers there, so I can understand why Voronin won't get that much time this season.
I agree about Crouch though, as much as I love him, I can never really see him doing much for them again...
I think Benitez should rotate between Voronin, Torres and Kuyt - I think they all can prove effective in different ways/situations.
Fergie celebrating after Tevez missed was priceless. The look on his face was just amazing.
Richards performance in that game was just incredible. He's got a 100% record of winning tackles so far this season....
My brother was good friends with him at Leeds City Boys. It's insane.
