Great National Express Railways

TheoGB [Edit] [Delete] 15 replies 08:55, 14 August '07

Yeah, National Express have won the franchise for the east coast route from GNER, it seems.

This seems a bit weird to me. Aren't GNER the only one who are half-decent?

  • the few times i went up that way on train

it were right quick and easy, but i would say tha that were due mainly to trains being quite quick also.

  • Most of GNER's

rolling stock was nice and they generally ran a tight ship in a public-facing capacity.

However, their business management was shoddy at best and they're in quite a lot of debt.

    • Also:

      the delays! The murderous delays!

I know most of their journey's ran from Kings Cross all the way up to Leeds or Edinburgh, but as a commuter it was always a better bet to get the slower, more reliable WAGN.

Despite this, I bloody loved the GNER. Especially the glorious White Rose train, with standard class accomodation better than most franchises first class.

      RIP

            while you do other stuff.

            Sorry.

How about if I point out I have rigged my Fantasy Football team for this week on the basis that Portsmouth will do well?
