Thank fuck. Football is returning.
Pompey for Europe.
going to be playing Wheater and Davies in central defence.
Should be interesting.
Boro news nonsense to be honest.
Every season there's reports of atleast 4 players being unhappy at the club and want out, then they all sign new contracts and people forget about it.
A strike force of Aliadiere and Lee Dong Gook isn't really the best.
i hate football
will go down in a million years this season
but i'm rather nervous. don't we have a really hard start to the season?
and i guess it gets them out of the way if we are struggling later in the season
and pompey, pompey are cack!
so their fans will shut up about how London Irish ruin "their" pitch - yeah the pitch we pay for and pay to have relayed all the time. Also, the parts of the pitch that get fucked are the centre circle and the six yard box, ALL RUGBY's FAULT OBVIOUSLY!
Funniest thing I think I've ever read was a Reading fan on a forum saying we had ruined the six yard bow because tat was were we dive under the posts to score tries. Because obviously the middle of the pitch is the only placfe tries are allowed. And we weren't very successful as the mess seemed to stop on the goal line.
because I'm a rabid QPR fan, and hey we're not going to get any success any time soon, so hey I can get some perverse pleasure from their failures.
It annoys me how everyone hates Chelsea now. It's so trendy. I'm like "HEY! I'm OLD SCHOOL hating Chelsea!"
In fairness I don't really want Reading to go down - they've really achieved something impressive and they've given us a nice home - MadStad is top stadium, although quality of Guinness could be improved. I'm just being bitter.
I watched one of those space-filling one hour 'highlights' shows on Sky Unnecessary last night. I fucking loved it. I'm excited!!!
like that last night too.
Top 4 goals that made Jose frown!
Top 7 thunderbolts!
Top 5 goals scored with yellow boots!
How the hell didn't that goal get goal of the month!
That was the one! Great days.
I sat on my sofa, smoking, watching footie highlights from last year and grinning inanely. And so did you two. This makes me happy :)
Mmmm... legal indoor smoking and football...
A roll-up too so I appreciated it so much more.
TV event of the year so far?
It was even better because I never watch the telly and managed to stumble across this gem.
on BBC Three. It was mint. And Matty Taylor's vs. Everton WONDERSTRIKE was No. 1 in the goals that should have been goal of the month but weren't. That goal turns me on so fucking much.
just for Taylor.
Torres to score 6 league goals next season.
Robin van persie to win player of the year.
and Oleg Luzhny to make astounding return to Highbury.
Then realise he's at the wrong ground and commit suicide on the Piccadilly line.
Season ticket in one hand (well, season card) and a broken bottle to smash your face in in other.
I'll meet you before the home game. And do you over good.
London People: last season we planned to go to some games. We didn't get to that many. This year, shall we start an FA Cup run together? I think we should.
Saturday September 1, 3pm: Dulwich Hamlet v Three Bridges/Wealden.
Let's do it.
although I'm at connect for that game.
I have a soft spot for them.
That's settled then. Everyone on board!!!! The FA CUP STARTS HERE!
I hope Spurs put 7 past Sunderland.
wis hattricks for berbatov and thudd.
the fa cup to itv.
Wenger (at the end of the season)
Sammy Lee and Jose Mourinho.
if Mourinho was going to leave, he would have left during the summer.
to care about Pompey this season:
to the Premiership that much. I am looking forward to Norwich v Cardiff though, and taking in another Peterborough match. Plus St. Albans v Dorchester on Saturday and the start of Hendon's season next week. Lower league football > Premiership.
to the thameslink derbies on boxing day and easter monday.
bring on the seasonal misery.
Carshalton via Windsor & Eton. He's only got one knee at the moment, but can still outskill anyone else we have.
just broke my heart :(
Cheer yourself up with
from the end of the season before last. Last minute winner for Kendal. Videos weren't invented at the time of the Vase Final!
I'll watch your victory now. God bless you.
this evening. Look out for Brooner, olegrich and devonmalcolm behind the goal for AFCW's goal and our 3rd.
Will be grand. Ritchie Hanlon has picked up a few gems over the summer.
in ages, but am really looking forward to it. Especially if Scott Cousins is still there.
but I didn't see him play at all last season (broke his leg in 2006 and was out for ages). I would be surprised to see him in the team this weekend :(
he spent time at Wealdstone and Harrow getting himself fit last season. He was one of my favourite Hendon players of recent times.
and tear you apart.
Torres, Benayoun and Gerrard (of course)
Newcastle 4 Europe.
^you know it makes sense
I'm hoping that Allardyce will keep him in check, as he clearly doesn't know much about football. If he manages that, and stabilizes our defence, then we should manage a top 6 finish.
who have you got that's any good?
Owen - clearly prefers being injured to playing for the Barcodes.
Duff - the same.
Dyer - wants to leave.
Barton - going to jail and not even that good.
Geremi - mercenary, past it.
Viduka - mercenary, old, slow and rubbish.
Luque - mercenary, been laughably bad for the past couple of seasons.
Emre - racist mercenary.
Martins - hit and miss, not going to get you a top 6 finish though.
Christ, the realms of self-delusion within Newcastle fans never fails to amaze me. If there's one thing I'm certain of, it's that Newcastle will not be finishing in the top 6 this season.
you know it makes sense.
my season ticket yet. SOON. we're playing notts county on saturday afternoon but i'm going to see dan deacon play on a moving barge in manchester the night before and won't be back in time.
i think we'll win on saturday. that said, we've made few signings and i think we're going to struggle for goals this season. i'm really not very excited. i can see another season of hovering between the bottom and the middle of the table, sadly.
potential for at least three players to leave between now and the season starting, only two that I know of that might sign in that period. One of the best attacking line-ups in the division, one of the worst defensive line-ups. A keeper that can be magnificent or amazingly bad. No money at all. Rumours of being bought by everyone from Sheikh Al-Makhtoum to Basil Brush. Likely protests against the board at the ground. A crowd that will get restless within 30 minutes of kick off. 14 seconds worth of highlights on 'The Championship' (oh, the LOLLZ) on a Sunday morning. Beating the better teams in the division and losing to the also-rans. Me getting unnecessarily excited at how much my football betting might win me this season. Drawing a top 6 Premiership side away from home in the FA cup 3rd round. Hoping that we finish in the play-offs, expecting to finish in the top half, also expecting to shift those expectations at Christmas. Looking forward to getting to some away games.
I am so excited I might just burst
Am considering not going to Field Day just to grace the hallowed Northam Stand once more.
