I'm not stressed yet. Ask me again in 10 days.
....all of my friends who did well in their A levels, went to university, etc are now in dull office jobs and generally hating it.
Everyone who 'fucked up' and left school at 18 or even 16 have become highly proficient at tiling/kitchen fitting/electrics, etc and are earning about 40,000, buying flats, nice cars and going off on holiday wherever they like at very short notice.
So, education, waste of time?
i think your quite biased against office jobs seeing as you only mention things outside of the actual job in relation to the tiling etc.
I can agree that you can be succesful without education but i reckon itll just be more of a struggle and you have to work your way up in a lot of professions. It also limits your avenues, its just personal preference i suppose.
and 40k+little possibilty for significant future rises is really pretty mediocre
so you think that earning 40,000 whilst still in your mid twenties in 'really pretty mediocre'.
Where do you live, Monte Carlo?
Next you build your business, then expand it. Being elf employed is the way to go, fuck working for other people.
...oh, and self-employed.
Elf employed is when you work for a French oil company or Santa.
a lot of people seem to be though, i think ive done well enough, what about everyone else?
I keep trying to work out how many marks I'll need for different grades, and whether I'll get into uni with them...but 3/4 of my subjects were essay based, so you can never tell really
it's really horrible to think that my future depends on these results
one im pretty sure i had enough marks and i did well in the exam so im not worried about that, and the other two wernt disasterous and i reckon i got enough, although i dont really have much room for a slip up
I had my results this time last year by june. JUNE!
don't stress about things that you don't know are true. likelyhood is you have done fine, and stressing is never good for you. in some cases it leads to your hair falling out
thing is simply not true!
i didn't make the grades for my first choice but they still accepted me (although by then i had decided i'd rather my second...).
even if you don't make it, then it's not the end of your life. it's not like cancer or anything, just some pieces of paper.
of course it's not like being in 'our' club does all that much harm. i think. so long as you don't want to be an investment banker or brain surgeon or anything.
...and you don't want to be around people like that!
Great money, but, the hours are ridiculous and the old adage about people who know the cost of everything and the value of nothing has never rung truer.
I sometimes think I should have been a teacher, decent enough salary, rewarding professionally, you get to help people and the holidays are killer....I'm only 27, there's still time!
The holidays don't make up for all the other shit you have to put up with
Im pretty much crapping myself, despite not really caring what the results are. I'm going to be dissapointed whatever results i get.
even thought about them, yeah!
i need 3 Bs or ABC, i don' think i'll get that.
i think all my worrying will come in one day, probably after field day and i realize i have 5 days until i have to come to terms with reality again, rather than living in my deluded sense of achievement at the moment.
Oh God, i have not appreciated the holiday's enough.
i have to phone up for my results and that's bad as i have to speak to my teachers listening to their voices when they say the grade angrily
It's alright that I need an ABB. That I can do. However, according to Leeds, the A-grade HAS to be in English, which is the subject I find hardest to get a decent grade in.
I have the fear.
and the guy I'm playing bass for at the moment has booked us a gig on results night. Considerate, much?
i have to achieve AAB and the English Literature has to be an A, but i know i can do it.
I never thought of you as being academic for some reason
after being on of the 12 people out of 500 who applied for a place in my school who got in i must be quite good if my tests were in the top 12.
I'm hoping for all B's really. Enough to apply for an English course at Goldsmith's.
i probably agree with you, but it's as well to check
