what was yours?
(thinly disguised thread to steal ideas)
and possible evolutionary explanations of psychosis
mine was about um...lots of things. It was a bit unfocussed and shit. Mainly about disrupting the idea of linear causality in social science.
mine wasn't as interesting as it possibly sounds because I didn't have the chance to go into much depth. It was more a textbook level summation of the area, so a bit predictable.
more unfocussed and confusing than it sounds.
So was the other one about attitudes towards self and the human body in the European palaeolithic.
else i've got a train i need to fall asleep on next week.
It was a real page turner.
BA - Buffy the Vampire Slayer and how it relates to monomythical structures of narrative storytelling
MA - The Functions And Meanings of Suicide in Teen Films.
Id love to do one about buffy
...it's being published in a book soon - if I ever remember to sign and sendback the release forms!
i've sadly read a couple of books on buffy 'what would buffy do? buffy the vampire slayer as spiritual guide' and 'reading buffy the vampire slayer' both were really interesting
It's specifically on series 6 and 7 and should be out later this year.
BUT my anthropological film, which i kind of count as my 'dissertation' was on identity of the self, specifically living abroad. and so on.
and their constituent paths of Irish nationalism 1923-1924
I wrote it in a day.
It's currently saved down on my broken laptop, but if I ever fix it I'll e-mail it to you
Best chat-up line ever :)
i need to know if we are gonna get bombed and stuff, my tv box says we are.
but am afraid there is no significance or meaning to be found and my conclusions will be it is just people wasting time in offices
a) Why did the Soviet Union invade Afghanistan in 1979?
b) Examining user attitudes towards self-services in academic libraries within the UK
ive always wondered what exactly that entails?
giving the shortest route from the front door to the Agatha Christie section.
but have a 'lol' anyway
i'm applying to do one next year.
Yes I am. It entails lots of technical detail about indexing, cataloguing and classification. But there are more interesting parts on collection management. I did my coursework on developing a music collection for an academic library. There's also loads of management stuff.
you both off?
you can quote me on that
kind of - in fact I might incorporate this theory into my dissertation.
Having an issue desk is better because it involves human interaction (sex)
Having self-services is better because it's quicker and easier (wanking)
People have a preference on how they issue their books depending on their sex-life preferences
i think you should investigate this further.
wanking isn't always a choice but a necessity - internal coercion
IM WATCHING YOU
this is the kind of thing I was thinking of, how are you finding it does it actually seem like there is substance to the area?
and that there is identity deviation and experimentation in some. ive only just run the questionnaire and focus group and have yet to run the analyses. wump
I just went with something as simple as possible. Two marks off a first, for which I was truly gutted. Especially since my draft chapter got me a 74. Confound you, ya pretentious japanese midget bastard. I'll stick a chopstick in YOUR eye.
...and a bit rich coming from someone who (judging by your own dissertation title) probably spent his entire university life sat in front of a PC, wanking into a pool of his own vomit and faeces. Give me walking around the great Scottish outdoors with a load of snakes over that, and indeed most things, anyday.
And yes, i did kiss a girl once.
From the 18th Century to the Modern Day.
massive topic. How did you go about that?
of knock-knock jokes.
It was total balls from start to finish. I didn't even bother getting the marks for it, I was so ashamed.
