I went to the Stella Vine exhibition in Oxford yesterday, and I'd highly recommend it. I'd like to know what other people think of her though. She's quite controversial, because technically her paintings aren't that great (they're quite 'GCSE art'), and she paints pictures mostly of celebrities, especially Kate Moss and Princess Diana.
Although I can see the paintings are a bit naive, they're very emotional and funny and charming, and overwhelming when you see them all together. My favourite one was of Jose Morinho and his silly little dog.
From a DiS point of view, some of the portrait subjects include PJ Harvey, John Peel, Kurt Cobain, Richey Edwards and The Rolling Stones.
