DVD Recorders + DVD-RWs
my mums VCR just died so we went and bought a DVD/Video recorder.
So I was all excited about being able to record films and things off the TV onto DVDs, so I had a look to see what was available in terms of DVD-RWs and stuff.
They ALL seemed to be 4.7Gb, 120 minute long. I don't think that is really long enough, because the main reason I would want to record onto a DVD is if there was a film on i wanted to keep, but a lot of films are (obviously) longer than 2 hours, so you couldn't record it all onto one DVD.
So:
- Are there any longer DVDs out there? Or is there a way of recording at lower quality to get more recording time?
- What do you do if there aren't any longer ones?
- Should we have just got a hard-drive recorder?!?
Answers on a postcard pls.
i don't think you can get any more than 4.7gb
but you should be able to alter the encoding rate so that you can fit more than 2hrs on there.
yeah you'd think so wouldn't youq
but i asked the sales guy in Comet, and he said you couldn't do that. But then again he IS just a slaes guy in Comet, so maybe he doesn't have clue.
