Just watched High Fidelity,and working in Championship Vinyl would be pretty cool.Much more fun than in Empire Records.
I worked in an independent store in the 90's then worked for a chain recently.The amount of free stuff I got back then from reps was unreal.Gig tickets,t-shirts,blenders etc.
It's currently a toss up between a fire fighter or police investigative officer.

i remember seeing a documentary where this journalist was speaking to a sniper on a rooftop in Sarajevo and the sniper turns to him and says "See that man and that woman in the street? Which one should I kill?" The journalist couldn't choose so the sniper shot the pair of them and said "I told you to choose."
The last scene is truly truly disturbing.
I won't spoil it, but by the end the sniper is convinced he is god.
failing that, a much maligned music critic
failing that, a snobby record store clerk who drives away all his customers with weirdo music
failing that, a pathetic office drone
ah well, one step up the ladder aint bad
cause in reality i know it'll never happen. I'd also be perfectly happy doing something like furniture carving. Anything to have my own workshop :)
Though getting into it is pretty nasty.
